Today it has been announced that the first Congressional Medal of Honor of the Iraq War will be given to the family of Sgt 1st class Paul R. Smith. It is the first MOH awarded since 1993 (Somalia). He was KIA on April 4, 2003. He joins the 3439 men (one woman) to receive the ultimate award. Currently there are 129 living recipients of this award.
