...on legal drugs that were prescribed for me!...and it sucked. Middle (and East) Georgia had a really sucky ice storm this weekend, and I had to go out in it. Needless to say, it bit me in the ass. My sinuses fucked up, and things went downhill from there. So, since I was miserable as all hell, I went to the infirmiry...I came out of there with freakin horse pills (HUGE pills..for someone with a sore throat...and in a childproof bottle...I have arthritis...) that took my appetite, made me hallucinate, and then upset my stomach....I feel really fucked up now..
Just thought I'd spread my misery around a little.

Any idea what it was that did that? The only things in any of the pills I've ever had for sore throats were painkillers.

I hallucinate without trying. Once, I spent six years in a forced labour camp, only to wake up and discover I'd been asleep for 20 minutes before I stood up and tried to dig with no spade or, indeed, bare earth.

Any idea what it was that did that? The only things in any of the pills I've ever had for sore throats were painkillers.
It was a mixture of Guaifenex and 600mg of Motrin...I'm a very small-framed person, so that shit was about like a cup of Theraflu with a shot of Everclear...
My betta fish, Jabberspawn, was talking to me in a threatning tone...that's how I knew I should stop taking the shit.

That's weird. You had a very unusual reaction. Those drugs aren known to cause hallucinations. Maybe you had a bad fever?

It's known to cause confusion, and if you mix that with a painkiller OD, that's how I react to some things. I think I'm chemically imbalanced or something...that, or the low blood sugar came back to bite me in the ass.

But knowing the names of the drugs, I can understand some things now about it.
Guaifenex contains guaifenesin (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a682494.html), phenylpropanolamine (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202462.html), and phenylephrine (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202460.html).
Guaifenesin makes me vomit in large enough doses.
Phenylpropanolamine is an appetite suppressant.
One symptom of a phenylpropanolamine overdose is hallucinations.
Did you possibly take more Guaifenex than you were supposed to?
That's the only thing I can think of.

It was a high dosage, so it's likely I was instructed to OD on the shit. I still think Student Health Services is out to kill me.
