Terrorism: The use of force or threats to intimidate etc esp. as a political policy.

Would not terror invoke more terror as retaliation? How can using terrorism be beneficial in stopping terrorism?

Is this sort of like using war to promote peace?

Thoughts?

I believe Stephen King said it best in On Writing:

"Fighting for peace is like fucking for chastity".

thats like asking someone how self-defence can be used to stop violence, though self-contradictory words they are not self-contradictory practices

#1 - the coalition isn't using threats, its invading brutal dictatorships and kicking the crap out of them so there really wasn't a whole lot of threatening involved

#2 - please tell me you can see that there is a world of difference between what the coalition is doing in Iraq and what ossam did on 9/11 [/QUOTE]

Terror and terrorism aren't really interchangeable. The US has done a good job at blurring the definitions, and as far as I can tell it's to allow them to direct their attentions to whatever target they want without opponents being able to oppose it without being accused of "supporting terrorism".

USA involvement in other countries
Here is information regarding America's involvement in other nations.
http://americanpeace.eccmei.net/

Here you can search yourself to see that Ossama is not the only terrorist that the USA has been anything but a "peace loving" nation This awakens many peoples eyes take the time to study the overthrows of democracy included here. And the United States putting ruthless killers back in power like Jean Baptiste Aristade. Read and learn. NOTE I am not condoning Ossama or any terrorist they are all wrong but terror will never stop terror.

You may attempt to justify terrorism but even justified terrorism is in fact terrorism. You can reassign any nice name you wish to it but a rose is a rose by any other name. Shakespeare
