Cute little story. I was scanning through the threads here in our happy little NS land, and saw nothing that particularly tickled my fancy.

Kewl! I had forgotten most of the original, but I knew it was something like that. Why is it that the Irish seem to have such a good handle on things like gentle prayers, good alcohol and fist-fights? Damn. I should'a been born Irish ... nahh. I like myself just the way I am. :D

Na, us German descendees are better. Awesome alcohol, the most awesomely engineered cars in the world, and an astounding amount of brilliant minds. But like everyone else, we have our short comings. Like Kaiser Wilhelm II, Adolph Hitler, and ME!

Nahhh. Don't place yourself in that company. You're kewl. I had three months in Germany with the Reforger III military exercise back in about 1972-3 sometime. We jumped in and ran around the back roads, finally winding up near the Checoslovakian border. I wound up being one of the last to leave, being in charge of some of the rear detachment.

Some of my fondest memories are of the little Gausthouses ( sp? ), where local Germans would share your great German beer ( room temperature! ) with us while regaling us of tales from WWII. I made the serious error of challenging a German Ironworker to an arm-wrestling match and wound up buying the entire Gausthouse a round! I was in GREAT shape, having been a weight-lifter after I got back from Vietnam, but THIS guy had arms the size of my thighs! To say I got whupped would be a gross understatement! :D

Sorry about that! Yes, I enjoy it as well - I thought there was a claim being made that cars had originated on US soil - and almost died laughing!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love old American Iron better than anything else around. But when it comes to refinement - I can't (in my opinion) see anyone as close to the Italian auto-makers.

Now - back to the yummy goodness...

any dish which has food placed in it is a good dish, as no one can eat an empty dish....well, unless they want to hurt themselves. which some people do. though i dont. i prefer to just eat the food, and possibly throw the dish when i'm done, like they do in greek restraunts. though i'm not greek. i do like olives and cheese though.....but then so do french people with their smelly cheese and stupid hats and pointless towers which are meant to be all romantic looking despite the fact that it is just an ugly looking pile of steel which doesnt lean in any way like the one in pisa. which i'm going to say is in italy, regardless of whether its true or not, so i can say that i had a friend who went there, and apparently they have crap pizza there. not like the pizza in australia, where i live. and thats a world tour....whew.

i love just typing and seeing what comes out. thanks for starting this whoever did.
