First Amendment not a big deal to American youth?

Wow. I never would have guessed. Growing up, I always thought my fellow students appreciated the First Amendment, since "it's a free country" was a semi-popular retort where I went to school. But now students think it goes too far? WTF? At least the teachers and principals got it right, and I always thought principals would be the censor-happy ones.

If this is the future of America, I shudder to think what laws they would pass in the future. If you guys think the Patriot Act is bad, wait for laws that utterly disregard the First Amendment.

That's what happens when none of the other three threads are on page 1 when you show up...not to mention I have been at work since 6 and had a flat tire before then, so 3 in the afternoon was the last time I was on NS.

So what happens when we get a Supreme Court made of these guys who interperet the Constitution as a "living" document? That's why we have to follow the "strict interpretation" view.
