I'm suprised people would think anything to the contrary!

How many times does it need to get proven? In how many different ways?

any correlative comparisons to the jump in the teen birthrate and introduction of abstinence ed proves that

at least a dozen more. when dealing with the willfully blind, you really do need to attach the light of reason to a nice heavy beatin' stick

They would work if the little shitcake bakers followed the instuctions. But given that the modern state of education is unable teach basic arithmetic, there is fuck all chance of this working.

That's why I say contraceptive shots for the lot of them. These can be funded out of the money saved from these stupid programs.

As a native Texan, my home state embarrasses me frequently. For once they're showing some sense.

BTW
Dubya is not a Texan.

I kinda liked Texas. It never seemed to really do anything to piss me off when I was living there. Plus the state's so huge that it has a very diverse culture and environment. I was especially surprised at the heavy German influence in East-Central Texas. Anyway [/stuff noone cares about]

Perhaps it is because I am less than a decade out of high school, but I can tell you this; for most teens I knew of 2 days in an "abstinence program" would have them prowling the high school like sex maniacs. Its like the DARE program all over again...Just another failed way to try and talk kids into not doing something without fully explaining why or giving them alternatives.

Repression leads to release people! Its hard to stop the explosion when the fuse is already lit; making the room cold won't help!

Gotta say, looking for a guy to sell you some weed? Look for a D.A.R.E. shirt.

Exactly! The top DARE graduates in my class and the class above mine became drug users. Two dropped out in my class; one dropped out in the one above mine, got drunk and pregnant at a party and became a wealfare statistic.

Thank you DARE, for providing kids with the tools to become tools.

My parents live in Brenham, so I'm very familiar with the New Braunsfels and Fredricksburg area.
If you were a liberal, the state would embarrass you frequently. Sometimes even if your not. Hear about Tulia, where a corrupt cops testimony caused eighty percent of the black population to be arrested on drug charges?
Or a certain loony judge in Dallas. Some local football players were arrested for beating a gay couple to death. Even though they were found guilty of voluntary manslaughter they got probation. Why? The judge said he didn't want to ruin those fine boys life. He also so said that he could no more sentence them to hard time for killing gays than he could if they had killed a prostitute.

Whoa. Do you have a link for that?! Thats outrageous! The judge should be impeached(or the equivalent for the judicial system)

I don't know where it might be found on the net. I just remember it being in the papers when I lived in Austin. The judge was in Dallas.

PS- Judges are appointed in Texas. Might check the Texas Observer archives. It happened about ten years ago.
