Say two positive and negative things about Bush

Bill Mutz

Positive:

1. Bush is one of the few politicians I've heard voice even a token of support for the Palestinians.

2. Bush has been supportive of stem cell research.

Negative:

1. Bush came close to starting a second Cold War with China over that spyplane.

2. Bush advocated amending the constitution against gay marriage, and some of you may know that I have personal reasons to want his blood spilled over that stunt.

No repeats. Do some research, and find something that hasn't been mentioned yet. Take off that partisan blindfold for a while.

Positive:
1. Pushing (or pushed) for more funding to NASA to support another moon landing era, and a possible mission to Mars

2. skillful use of manipulation (seriously, it's an admirable skill I hope to posess one day)

Negative:

1. Manipulating 9/11 for his own wants

2. Refusing to admit his own mistakes

Negative:

1] His foreign policy is one that spreads hatred and mistrust with its motto: The ways of America are the ways of the World.
2] He is an ignorant, carpet-bagging yankee.

Positive:

1] He has cute daughters.
2] His "Presidency" will soon be at an end.

1. Manipulating 9/11 for his own wants

2. Refusing to admit his own mistakes

Anyone who was president after 9/11 would have exploited it for their own wants!

Yeah about admitting mistakes, sure it's nice to do that, but when the press is almost hostile to you, why would you do it and kill your chances of being reelected?

Pros-
1. Bush is the first president to realize the Cold War is over, and adjust his policy as such.

2. His Social Security plan will create billions in credit, as the money is free from government control.

Cons-
1. He spends too much.

2. He has far too much compassion, leading to the ineffectiveness of the No Child Left Behind Act, and the failure of his massive subsidies for public housing.

Negative:

2] He is an ignorant, carpet-bagging yankee.

Sure he's a carpet bagger. I doubt he is ignorant, he did get elected president and has a higher IQ then Kerry. Did you graduate college with an MBA?

I wasn't aware that either Bush's or Kerry's IQ was tested for public scrutiny.

Of course I didn't graduate college with an MBA ... why would I? What does that have to do with intellect, though? Thousands of MBAs in the world who couldn't tie their own shoes, walk without tripping over their dog, or eat a pretzel without damn near dieing. Matter of fact ... what does IQ have to do with intellect?

Stephen Hawking once said something about people who boast about their IQ...

Bush didn't boast about his IQ. It was in their service records.

You've never ever choked on something? I guess anyone whoever choked is ignorant!

The Iq's were in the files!

You are the one who called him ignorant in the first place. You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house, Chief!

How do you see that as a negative?
If the economy suffers, unemployment will increase, there will be more poverty, there will be more crime, there will be more people without health insurance, and it will affect Canada's economy.

Bush didn't boast about his IQ. It was in their service records.I know. It is, however, quite irrelevant.

I should hasten to point out that IQ test results vary wildly with the questions therein. I've been returned an IQ of 140-ish with one and about 105-110 with another, for instance. They're a very uncertain method of measuring intelligence.

Anyway, back to topic:

Pro:

1) He's stuck to his guns.
2) He seem to me to be a reasonably decent bloke.

Con:

1) He's embroiled both the US and ourselves in that whole mess in Iraq, for whatever reason he had (and with the assistance of Blair).
2) He's really, seriously screwing up the US economy, which is not a good idea.

You've never ever choked on something? I guess anyone whoever choked is ignorant!

No, I have not. That is not why Bush is ignorant. I've never given a reason for his ignorance, you have assumed. Keep playing, though. You're funny.

The Iq's were in the files!

I've never seen the files. I am still curious as to what IQ has to do with intellect or an MBA.

Positive

1. He's no longer pushing for a anti-gay marriage amendment.

2. I heard him say something witty in an interview once.

Negative

1. He either manipulates Christian voters or has a deeply flawed understanding of his own faith.

2. He paid political analysts to say good things about him with tax payer money.

It's hard to narrow it down to two of each. I guess I'll just choose the two I've talked about with friends most recently.

The Good

1. He is willing to attack the social security problem head on, and laugh at democrats that try to downplay the seriousness of the issue.

2. He brought about a marked change in our foreign policy in which we went from sort of playing along with Europeans when we weren't lying to them and having them kind of like it sometimes. Now we call bs what it is and clearly state that we will work for our best interests, as does every other nation on the planet.

The Bad

1. The gay marriage amendment was uncalled for.

2. We've known terrorism was going to be a problem for a long time. Hell, we've had several embassies bombed and we had a bombing of the world trade center in 1993. Why wait untill 9/11 to do something about it? President Bush is least at fault here since he actually did something, something big, about it. But not one president since the 70's, not even Bill Clinton, took an initiative against terrorism when everyone (well, everyone in the know. I guess if it's an embassy being bombed and not the world trade center tumbling to the ground, Americans are too disaffected by it to really worry about it.) knew the danger that lay ahead. Good idea, bury your head in the sand and hope it'll go away.

I know it's irrational to think that George Bush could have run for president on the idea of fighting terrorism in 2000, but it's a pet peeve of mine.

Positive:

1) He can't run again in '08
2) He has the funniest quotes from any politician since Dan "Potatoe" Quayle

Negative:

1) Flip-flopper on the war in Iraq
2) Where are the F***ing WMDs, ya moron!

The Good:

Legally, he can't ever run for President again.

Makes unintentionally hilarious comments.

The Bad:

Totally fucked up Iraq, pissed off former allies and the UN, ass-raped the economy, uses religion as basis for actions.

Appointed John Ashcroft.

31-01-2005, 07:05
Negative

1. He is responsible for eviscerating the Constitution through the Patriot Act and similar legislation.

2. He has committed the U.S. to an Orwellian endless "war on terror" that could prove to be the undoing of many of our civil liberties and trash our relations with the rest of the world for decades.

Positive

1. He isn't using more than his fair share of oxygen.

2. ...still thinking about the second thing. I'll get back to you.
The Black Forrest
31-01-2005, 07:42
Positive:
1) Response to Afghanistan
2) ....................I am trying. Ok. I have to copy with the 08 answer.

Negative:
1) It's going to take many years to clean up his mess.
2) He likes to surround himself with yesmen.

Side note: This is the first individual that I haven't called the President. I didn't like Regan, Carter, and Poppy Bush but I still called them the President.

Supportive of stem cell research, sorry but you only 1/2 for those positives.

Positive:
1) Sneaky; not only is he disguising his steady march towards unilateralism he's doing it well
2) Amusing; he is so funny, or atleas the spoofs and anti-Bush propaganda that spews forth because of him

Negative:
1) Unilateral Christian fascist; I find him to be rather fascist with his denial of stem cell research, abortion and gay marriage. He is also trying to push for Jesuslandia to expand to the 49th.
2) Incompetent; this man started what 12 oil companies and drove them all into the ground?

Good is that he beat the ever-loving shiznit out of the Taliban, who righteously deserved it. Bad is that he hardly paid attention to Afghanistan when he decided to turn right around and invade Iraq.

Good is that he was actually funny once. Bad was that he has tried about 900 times and failed miserably every other time. "Need some wood?"

+ Invaded Afghanistan
+ Dresses up well

- Has done nothing in regards to North Korea or Iran, which do/almost do have WMD's...while invading Iraq, which had none.
- In relation to the decade, level of technology, and public awarness of the issue, is probably the worst president in terms of environmental policies we've had in 100 years.

Thanks, this is a good excercise. I'm gonna skip the bad stuff, becuase its what I tend to focus on normally, and instead think of as many good things as I can.

2. Suddam Heussaid was captured.
3. Families have recieved checks to help with expenses for children.
4. An election was held in Iraq today.
