Less conservative, more... Neutral?

I've noticed that I'm becoming less and less of a conservative/Republican/Bush supporter.

But I'm not moving left/Liberal. I'm pretty much in the middle and staying. The only leftist feelings I have is mild support for Socialism. For now, however, capitalism is fine and dandy.

How about you?

Could you be becoming a libertarian, perhaps?

If anything, the older I get, the more to the left I lean.

There are ideologies other than conservative and liberal. I have found myself becoming more libertarian.

Six months ago I was moderate on social issues and far left on economics. Now I'm very libertarian on social issues and centrist on economics.

I stay in the middle, I find so many faults with every party out there. I also feel that the party system should be dissolved. i don't know how many times I've heard, I didn't vote how I felt was right, instead I voted how my party told me.

I think one should vote, at the lowest levels, based on one's own personal structure, not just be sheep to the best talker.

In the Congress side of things, you should be in communication with those you represent, not yourself and your party, but listen, and judge from there what is best for your people, not your political party's paychecks.

They give me ten options.

I filled them with the two biggest kinds of political factions and neutral. I would add them if I could. :(

It's obvious he wasn't aware of the option, judging by the bipartisan poll.

It mean's he's becoming less Libertarian, if I'm not mistaken. However, he could just be making no sense.

i used to consider myself a moderate conservative. I had some conservative beliefs (taxes, affirmative action, gun laws) but also disagreed with a lot of conservative opinions (Iraq war, gay marriage, drug war, etc.) Then a little while ago stumbled across the Libertarian party's website. Everything I read seemed to make so much sense. Now I consider myself a pretty hardcore Libertarian

Welcome to the only party that respects you enough to let you work hard, keep your money, and then spend it how you like on your own time.

I have to know... What does this mean exactly? :confused:It means I can get through a lunch period without feeling like I have to have a huge political debate. It means I don't feel the need to ram my ideas down peoples throats whenever they say something I disagree with. :D

Basically, I'm less militant. I was a zealot. Like a fundamentalist libertarian :D

Oh, okay. Sounds like you became an Ayn Rand-ish asshole for a while.

Being Libertarian means giving people the liberty to disagree. Enjoy the diversity that it creates.

Militantism of any kind is annoying and shortsighted. Downgrade to firebrand.

You know how they say that sending you to college makes you more liberal? I find it funny that the longer that I've been in college, the more conservative I've become, with a sprinkling of libertarianism. And to answer your next question, no, I'm not at a religious school. I'm at a state-funded secular university.

"If a man is not a liberal at 20, he is without a heart. If he is not a conservative at 40, he is without a brain." -- Winston Churchill

:p Rand is like drugs. Only in moderation my friend.

EDIT: To be fair, the same effect happens to liberals when reading Chomsky.
And conservatives at the mere sight of Pat Robertson.

:p Rand is like drugs. Only in moderation my friend.Definately.

I think any religion or political affiliation is like that. Take anything to extremes and you get annoying people :)

They usually become the stereotypes: the redneck conservative, the hippy liberal, the stoner greenie.

The abrasive and tactless Libertarian.

As an empathetic person I remain a strong social liberal. As a parent, business owner, home owner, and taxpayer I remain a strong fiscal conservative.

I want to help those that can't hep themselves, I believe in a strong social safety net to lessen the hardship of misfortune that is often not the people's fault and which helps tham back to their feet as quickly as possible, and I want to allow for as much personal freedom as possible. I don't however, think that government exists to throw money at problems without solving them, or to come up with new and more useless layers of bureaucracy to piss my tax dollars away either.

Been that way for quite a while now.
