I am certainly a freak. A boarderline nerd, though if you'd asked last year it would ahve been a solid yes.

A geek could be someone who might use the internet a lot (including ebay, etc.) might be obsessed with music (band geeks), might play videogames, blah, blah. but can still fit in with normal society. Some geeky things become "cool", ie. MP3 players.

A nerd is someone who goes to startrek conventions, etc. and doesn't fit in with normal society.

A freak is subjective I guess. :p

1. Someone who is obsessed with grades, looks, etc.
2. Popular but not into sports as much as jocks

My guess is you're still in middle/high school? Don't worry, you'll find people who understand you - even if they're not exactly like you! In college, at least, it's practically a guarantee. :D

Someone kinda defined it earlier...

first of all, "preppy" is an adjective (not a noun - people used to use "prepster" as the noun version, but it's pretty out - people just say "prep" now, at least on the east coast). It originates from people who went to prep (preparatory) schools - not sure what they're called outside the US (maybe the same?), but they're usually upscale private schools, oftentimes where students live in dorms.

Preppy is often used to describe WASPs (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants - again, not sure if this term is used outside the US). Basically, imagine a white person with perfectly coiffed hair, khakis, a polo shirt, and a sweater tied round the neck, and you've got the prep stereotype (think J. Crew or Charlotte, Trey, and Bunny from Sex and the City. (If you're curious about it, check out The Official Preppy Handbook (http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_life/preppy.htm).)

But the prep look became fashionable again in the past couple of years, so while it used to look not-so-sexy, it's gotten more that way. Now even people who wear Abercrombie & Fitch or Aeropostale will describe themselves as prep, but that's more ghetto prep.

I thought they might of, but I was too lazy to check :D thanks. From what you've said I think the UK equivelent is someone who went to Boarding School. And no I'm not a preppy, I'm a mix between a nerd and a jock - meaning that although I may be stupid, at least I am physically weak.

People would describe me as a nerdish freak.

I think that I am a lot more normal in some ways than some people think.

I'm a rider - I ride all sorts of things... snowboards, wakeboards, surfboards, skateboards, ladies, those horses at the mall that you pump quarters into...

And today at work... I was called crazy by several people...

There's prolly other's I'm forgetting to mention. Anyone seen the show "Stump the Schwab" on ESPN? That's who I am aiming to be. Someone who can tell you what Hank Aaron's on-base percentage in 1972 was (.390), or who won at Wembley in the 1946 (Derby County).

I also love fantasy, so i'm your stereotypical nerd in that respect too. And I love the show Blackadder. Another geeky fascination.

I'm an all-purpose nerd! :p
