These are my own really random picks, which I know makes this poll pointless.

Out of those ones....I have heard Jethro Tull the most, and liked em. So they got my vote.

I voted for Hole just because I knew no one else would.

I was trying to go for popular bands. (No point if I come up with 10 bands that no one had ever heard of.) Popular, yet ... underrated.

Also, I realize 8 of these 10 bands are American. What can I say, we get no respect.

Picked Jethro Toll, modern age bard, and not that bad at music, though my uncle ruined him good for me.

Singing at the top of his lungs, off key, and I think stoned, yeah, he did that a lot. When I lived upstairs to him I heard them all, and Rocky Horror scared me the most, seeing a middle aged man, going bald with long hair singing sweet transvestite and thrusting in the same room as you, yeah, creepy. lol

Iron Maiden got my vote, hard working bastards yet have never really expanded their fanbase enough to get their albums to go further than Gold *500,000 copies in america, about 200,000 copies need to be sold to get to gold* Hole are not deserving of anything because they suck.

I love The Band, and Jethro Tull but I don't think they are underrated, so I am going with Curtis Mayfield.\

Edit: But if given a choice, I would say The Notwist, very underrated.

Local H cracks me up, excellent choice.

Voted Maiden because that's the only band I've heard music from. I guess it's a bit hard to draw a proper line between underrated and infamous.

Hmm, for most underrated band out of any, it'd have to be either The Birthday Party or The Fall in my opinion. Everbody I know either hasn't heard of them or hates them.

Out of the list in the poll, I'd have to pick the Cranes, since I'd only heard if them about a month ago.

Everyone download The Notwist's "One With the Freaks" or "Pilot".

It took me so long to find the download page on their website!
It looks like net.art, and you can't tell what half the links are!

I would suggest Limewire, but I am a simple criminal.

Edit: Holy Moses, their shit is fucked up.

While I, on the other hand, am an extremely complicated criminal.

I'm gonna say Uriah Heap.

And Jethro Tull was the name of the band, not a guy in the band

I completely and utterly agree! Nick Cave especially rocks!

The only bands I have heard of from this list are Iron Maiden and Jethro Tull. I like Maiden, so I'd chose them. All these bands bar liek, two are American though; for underrated British bands I'd like to display my admiration for Girls Aloud, McFly, Busted and Sugarbabes. These are underated, yet very popular, as they are succesful pop "bands", each with a vibrant fanbase made up of 9 year old girls; thus aquiring hatred from most folk. They are good though. Really.

I just checked out some of their stuff. "Liberty Song" and "One Way" seem pretty good.

I say Sly and the Family Stone. Heck they pretty much started the whole funk movement of the 70's, plus they played at Woodstock. They had some awesome funk ballads as well.

The most underrated band ever is The Gathering.

I voted for the Cranes on this poll.

I don't see how Iron Maiden are in any way underrated.
