Adrian Barbeau-Bot

As we didnt have enough band threads, i created another.

This one is different however - what are your favorite bands, not necessarily the most talented.

as for me - soundgarden, nirvana, cream, alice in chains, the doors, burning brides, local h, nine inch nails, foo fighters, jimi hendrix, janes addiction, pixies, sonic youth, the hives, white stripes, audioslave, rage against the machine, led zepplin, mudhoney, queens of the stone age, radiohead, velvet underground, blue oyster cult, heavier smashing pumpkin stuff and jefferson airplane.

not in any order at all.

Didn't it get put into some movie too? Cause I thought I heard it in one once.
I forget which, though.

Styx, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, REO, Kansas, Boston, Hubastank*, Heart*, Cheap Trick, Queen, Queens of the Stone Age*,Damn Yankees, Black Sabbath (especially the Deo years), Elton John, Billy Joel, Electrasy*, and so many more.
Okay, I'll admit it. I love music. I like almost every band that I've ever heard. Although most of the ones I spend money on are Classic Rock and Jazz.

Right now I'm diggin' Sex Mob and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band because I just got new ones of each, plus replaced an old Sex Mob (plays Bond).

There is also a new World Saxophone Quartet that I want pretty bad, but I don't want to buy it off the iTunes store. So, World Saxophone Quartet.

I also like the Kronos Quartet.

And now, the band you'll beat me up for, Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Look, they had three very much not swing revival albums before that song....and they're pretty cool.....oh, fine...make your jokes.....pfffffbbbllllllttttt)

I always thought they sucked, until I actually listened to some of their songs. They're pretty good.

What do they fall under in terms of genre, new wave or indie or what?

No one ever listens to me when I tell them that stellastarr really isn't that bad. I think I've had "My Coco" stuck in my head for a solid year.

You know, I was just sitting down trying to think of music to ..go...get and umm, loaded up NS and saw this, so it works.

I like most music types.

Everything from Traditional Celtic Music to Classical to Techno to Eurodance to Rock to Hard Rock to Punk yadda yadda yadda. If I like it, I will listen to it, if it gets repetitive, it gets tossed. but I LOVE music.

I bought that new CD, umm, Saint Anger, don't know why, just saw it and thought I would give it a chance. Well, I did, and I got into the first song, skipped it, next, skipped it too, this repeated for the entire cd, so it became my new coaster, it was never returned to its CD slip, and the video disk never even came out. The last I saw it, it was covered in spilt soda, and I felt it deserved the fate, and left it that way, as for the music cd itself, I have no idea, I kept tossing it around like a frisbee. Didn't break it though, didn't want to waste the energy, Should have named it, Saint Jude, a lost cause.

It's funny that everybody is talking about Dream Theater when I'm listening to Train of Thought right now.
Currently I'm on "Honor thy Father".

Yay, another fan :D

That's the first albulm I heard by them. 'As I Am' is still one of my favourite songs by them, I can remember being blown away by it when I heard it-I was just getting into a whole new scene of music.

The solo in "As I am" is brain-melting. That is one of the the most incredibly hard-sounding solos I've ever heard that managed not to sound like guitar wankery.

I know, was a lovely treat for my first prog band to hear something like that which is probably why prog is my favourite genre. I was worried when I heard it live it wouldn't live up to my expectations but it did. Excellent excellent band.
