Original Nation Names

Why do all the new and semi-old nations have these unorginal or stupid names?
Like, "Penu-twity land" or, "The United States of Indianana" or something?
Whatever happened to real, serious nation names?

Well, I joined when nationstates was linked to on Fark.com about a year ago. Nobody from Fark really took the game seriously at first, so they signed up with silly names. The game grew on some of us and we were stuck with these silly names that we had to deal with.

My name isn't exactly "normal" but it isn't exactly "origanal". I don't know what you'd call it....
I try to keep mine something I'll remember..... (and know how to spell in future)

My nation name is awesome.
The Imperial Dominion of Sdaeriji. Come on, 'Imperial Dominion' sounds so badass.

Come on, what's wrong with "The Royal Federation of Alomogordo"? My first nation, which I think I created in August 2003, was "The Democratic Republic of Orachia". It was my really lame attempt to make it sound like something IRL.
