I would say Queens of the Stone Age, but I would certainly not call them one of "Dave Grohl's bands." He just played drums for them one one album; they released a few albums before that.

You left out Probot, even though they are not good.

He only did one album with QotS. I don't think you can really count that.

Best Band... if you define "Best" as most innovative, most original, most influential, OR even just most consistently delivering a quality product.. then Nirvana.

I don't think I COULD describe "best" in a way that would allow me to nominate any of the other choices...

Commercial, perhaps... or derivative...

None of the above: they're all shit.

Plus you missed out his new one, Power*something or something. I forget, it was in a Modern Drummer magazine.

Edit: Probot, that's the name. Thanks *above poster*

yea i left out Probot, so sue me

i also left out several other bands hes been in, like Dain Bramage

personally, although Nirvana were very good, i think the Foo Fighters are great, especially when you consider tat on the album "foo fighters" he played all the insutruments, and on "The Colour and the Shape" he did guitar and drums....as well as vocals, obviously

i dont know about QOSTA, they wanted him to do al; their albums, and he toured with them etc for Songs for the Deaf, theyre not his band in the sense he started them - just like Nirvana, but theyre his band in the sense that he did alot for them and toured with them etc

No.

Dave Grohl played drums on one QOTSA album, "Songs for the Deaf".
He also toured on a two month stint with the band.
He did not play on any other of the two albums.
Thats hardly "a lot".
QOTSA is not Dave Grohl's band, by any means.

I'm inclined to agree.

If you accept that Grohl was a moonlighter in the Nirvana lineup, and that he is a drummer-for-hire for QoTSA - Foo Fighters is pretty much all you have left with enough to judge on.

Of course, I personally wouldn't empty my bladder on Foo Fighters if they were on fire... but that's my personal taste.

I actually like Foo Fighters. I hate QotSA.

Not really. He did the percussion for their album.
