I agree, but are the rest industrial or no? I'm always confused as to what bands define Industrial.

I'd say no on Tool and White Zombie. They're more hard rock. After Downward Spiral, NIN started to get a little too chippie, but I guess they would still technically qualify. The rest, nod, very industrial.

It really depends on the song. They have some industrial stuff, but they also have some non-industrial music. And yes, Tool is certainly not industrial at all, though they do have some songs that could qualify, they as a band should not be considered to produce industrial music.

Cool. I only discovered it about four years ago. None of my friends listen to it. Luckily my musical tastes are varied enough to appreciate their music too.

Ministry have been at times, KMFDM I'd say yes, NIN used to be, Rammstein first and second albums maybe, Tool kinda went in that direction but I wouldn't go there, Marilyn Manson would be a no, White Zombie remix album of AstroCreep 2000 had the sound to it maybe.....

ANYONE REMEMBER SKINNY PUPPY OR FRONT 242!!!!

KMFDM definitly, my fave Industrial band.

Ministry, NIN and Rammstein... at times maybe. I like NIN and Minstry,

Marilyn Manson no. And I hate him. Awful teen 'goff' poseur singer.

Tool, no but I do love them.

And I don't know White Zombie.

And whoever mentioned Skinny Puppy, I like them too. Along with Throbbing Gristle.

I like Einstürzende Neubauten, a German industrial band. They're so industrial that they use factory equipment rather than real instruments!

Please stop spamming about Bohemian Rhapsody. It's not even the best Queen song.

No, even tho I like EN I'm no hardcore industrial fan. My friend who has a fetish for all German music just recently lent me Strategies Against Architecture 80-83.

The name of the band is awesome too. Einsturzende Neubauten translates as "New Buildings Collapsing". Or "Collapsing New Buildings", I don't know much about German sentence stucture.

Oh. I assumed you were, since not many people like EN. It's a bit...
Abrasive. Not many people enjoy that sort of stuff.
"Drawings of Patient O.T." is a good album too.

There, covers up Queen very nicely, and it all blends perfectly with the E.N.

Ah! Then it is essential you get CDs by Skinny Puppy, Foetus, Nitzer Ebb, Revolting Cocks, Front Line Assembly, and Throbbing Gristle. :) Pure industrial metal at its finest.

:(
"Headhunter" and "Welcome to Paradise" got me hooked on industrial.
Along with Front Line Assembly's "Caustic Grip" and "Gashed Senses & Crossfire" albums.

Also a good choice! (although up until Black Catalogue, they were kinda euro-trash)

KMFDM
Rammstein
Tool
NIN
Marilyn Manson
White ZombieBig Fan.
If we have to label these bands as "Real" Industrial, then here's the list I'd approve:
Ministry
KMFDM
NIN

That's it. The rest resemble metal bands with a lil' more synth thrown in than the usual fare. (Though TOOL really does elude description, and Marilyn's good, but definitely metal.)
The closest White Zombie ever came to industrial was having KMFDM remix Thunderkiss '65... they blow goats.

Hell yeah! After Nails, my favorite industrial band OAT is Skinny Puppy.
