I must show the world Rogue, a game I grew up playing. Allow me to explain and then provide a link.

You are in a multi-level dungeon searching for something called the Amulet of Yendor, which enabled you to get the hell out of the dungeon. Along the way, you collect weapons, scrolls, and potions that do some really fucked-up shit if you let them. You also collect gold, and your score is how many gold pieces you finish with. Oh, by the way, if you die, you lose ten percent of your gold, or something like that.

Oh yeah, and there are monsters galore. There are 26 kinds of monsters, each represented by a letter of the alphabet. Some of the letters are harder to make monsters out of, so you might ask yourself, "What the hell is a quagga? And why is F represented by something that starts in a V?" Trust me. If they had anything other than letters to represent characters, they could be a little more creative, but then again, it's cool.

OK, now for the link:

Post your top scores here, along with what you named your character. I use Captain Hook for my character.

Sweet crap I spent sooooo much of my childhood playing this. I would have thought no one remembered this. I should have known better. Thanks man.

Too bad this version doesn't seem to allow saves...it was the only way I won when I was younger. That and the ever-popular staff of polymorph.
