I have thought up of many things that havent happened yet;

The politicians are always hiding so they dont get killed, but when they get elected they will have all the insurgents looking toward them trying to kill them, and all the presidents will be killed.

They could elect an insurgent, think all the other politicians support the US, that means all the current voters are split thousands of ways, if one insurgent runs, he will get all the vote, unsplit, plus he wont be assassinated because he has the insurgents on his side.

Any other ideas?

Once Iraq has a proper government and military all set up they won't stand much of a chance, BTW what are they fighting for anyway? are they saddam loyalists? religious zealots? stupid?

theyre not fighting for anything as much as fighting against the occupation

oh yeah because the better trained and armed american military is really keeping them from being a threat :rolleyes:

Just so everybody knows I am behind the insurgents 100%, I understand where they are coming from, they are protecting their homes, its like the south during the civil wars, except Iraq has an even better case to defend themselves because they did NOTHING to us, I guess you could argue that the South seceded, but thats there choice, their states rights.

Yeah, 5% of the country wants violent overthrow of democracy, declaring freedom "unislamic..." so let's give them control of the other 95% so they don't shoot anybody. Sounds logical.

Who gives a shi* where they come from? Lets set up a scenario, if the US was attacked by Japaneese (BS but follow along) and they owned a lot more land and ravished our country for no reason just to set up their idea of a good govt. would you grab a gun to fight back? Does that make you bad? What if some Canadians and Mexicans crossed the border to help? Would that be bad?

Understand their is a difference between insurgents and terrorists.

And what I said does not mean I dont support our troops, I just understand where they come from and dont think we should have ravished our country.

EDIT:By come from I thought you meant land like Syria, me bad, either way its all in this post, just ignore the first line in this post.

The question is how can you not understand where they come from?

Lets be real the insurgents are going to reject the choices offered them by the USA. The vote will happen a new government will be installed and my guess is civil war will erupt causing more bloodshed then when Saddam was in power by a long shot. The new government unless funded and armed heavily will be overthrown and the insurgents will get who they want anyways. Unless of course the USA occupies the territory for a long while.
