:( There is nothing to live for but everything to die for.

Umm... let's just say that I believe the opposite (more or less - excluding extreme scenarios, like if I had a child and sacrificing myself would save his/her life).

There is EVERYTHING to live for - food, people, life, love, (the list goes on)...

It reflects a common dissatisfaction with the real nature of life today, while still clinging to ideals tightly. I'd imagine.

Sounds more to be about living life passionately.
A statement of living to get by isn't enough, you need to take risks, extend yourself and take the chance of dying to truely love living.

There is nothing to live for but everything to die for.
It speaks to me of a person with nothing to lose but whose death will serve a greater good, perhaps to the benefit of others.

There is nothing to live for but everything to die for.

There are more things to live for then to die for I think.

Sounds like someone that wants to die and is actively seeking an excuse to do so. If this describes you, remember that sometimes you have to leave your computer terminal to fully appreciate existence. ;)

I would rather say that there is nothing to live for and nothing to die for. It simply doesn't matter. If you keep on living, it's not like you will regret it when you have died... I feel that life is worth living when I have fun, and not worth living when I haven't. So as long as I'm generally more happy than unhappy, I'm fine.

remember that sometimes you have to leave your computer terminal to fully appreciate existence. Myself I appreciate my life when I'm having fun, which I almost always have in front of my computer. ;)

Everyone who is talking about how much there is to live for obviously does not understand this concept. Most occidentals can not understand it.

From a purely oriental standpoint, as life is the constant and unending seperation from the whole, and death is total unification with the whole, the statement is almost literal.

Which said, in no way is death to be seen as a goal.

Life is wonderous and beautiful.
