I was wondering how many Generalites do NS-related RPing. So who here RP's in NS or II? How about on offsite regional or organizational forums?

Well, I've done some, but not recently. And not with this nation.

I'm around II all the time... when I see something I feel I want to involve my nation in.

Had a nice little Eart VI spat regarding the strait of Gibralter.. until the guy who caused it decided to stop comming around...

I used to. I even competed in some of the early World Cups (4-7). But I became disillusioned with it because for the most part, it was far too military-oriented, and way lacking on the diplomatic side. Also, very few people were willing to rp in a light-hearted humorous manner.

Yeah, I second that. I found it boring.

I used to RP primarily in the UN forum. I got tired of the complete n00bishness of many UN members that would post twice and then leave forever, though.

My nation exists ICly in the NS and II forums, but I barely ever RP - that's a legacy of the Third Age of NationStates.

I haven't RP-ed yet with this fresh little nation, but about 11 months ago you could find my previous incarnation in the NS and II forums, yes

A new dark mist is rising in the South. It tis a foul and demonic evil mist. One that cannot be seen or heard. But can be felt by its dark and evil draw. Soon their will be orcs marching among your cities streets pillaging and raiding everything. Trillions and trillions of orc-a swarm of locusts that does not stop, does not sleep until all who oppose Lord Saurun is all but a rotting corpse.

I not only RP here in NS, but on other boards as well. In RL I've Table Top/Pnped ( played and GMed ) for over 25 years.

*Snickers quietly at LG's trap and waits for Lord Saurun to fall for it. While he's out of it, I'll brainwash the orcs and have them turn on Lord Saurun*

Trilat - Isn't that a bit extreme? Chainsaws are so messy.

Just remember - if you kill it you have to clean the mess up.

I own an incredably active RP forum.

Please note, this is not spamming, I'm just sharing an adress.

The closest I'll likely ever get to RPing Nation States is when I act like a sociopath during a game of Diplomacy.

Sure: but no mindless warmongering, no techwank, and no troublemaking. I like the diplomatic side of things.

i third that. plus, on the other forum that i RPed on, people did not know where the line existed between RP and RL. So, everyone got offended by the elitists, and some players had some problems trickle down into RL. sad, scary, and.... OVER.
try as i might though to stay ignorant, people have been trying to pull me in. i shall overcome the urge to join up. too risky, too disapointing.

No RPing beyond Paradise Club (and I'm on an extended break from there currently).

I do read a forum that has NS-related rping... but that's really more because I'm incredibly silly, rather than any sort of urge to rp myself.

I roleplay all the time, but ina way much different from what you probably had in mind.

No, it's not dirty. Unless you want it to be ;)

I roleplay. With friends, gathered around a table. I am an old school pen &paper roleplayer and avid Larper and find purely electronic roleplaying shallow and onedimensional. Even worse when compared to larping, because you dont have tone of voice, facial expression, body stance etc. There is no system of checks and balances, thus a single loudmouthed idiot can spoil the experience for all players. And even worse, i can whack nobody with a latex weapon. :D
