Jews...Culture? Or Religion?

It is obvious that Judiasm is a religion, but are we considered a culture too?

Do we not have our own land? (Before being conquered we did)
Do we not have our own language? Hebrew of course...
Do we not have our own laws...which we are technically supposed to obey?

What is your opinion? Are we just a religion? Or both a culture and religion?

Poll will be up in a moment

Well, since most jews are jewish because their parents are jewish, rather than converts, a certain culture and genetics are inevitable, I would guess.

Hmmm...i should've made this poll public. I wanted to see who voted just religion.

And more so... why do you feel that way?

Ok after a 40 minute debate our class decided that the Jewish culture also qualifies it as a race other than caucasian, african, asian, or whatever. Yes I said Jewish culture. :)

Most religions are parts of cultures, and this especially applies to Judaism, since it doesn't solicit converts.

From what i can tel...we used to allow converts. All you had to do was say i wanna be a Jew, take a dive in the mikvah, and your a jew. yay!

But after the Inquisition, when they were profiling our ranks we had to change that.

You must prove with a full heart that you want to be a jew, and go through a 3 year test (est). Or at least that's what i hear.
