Nothing is faster than the speed of light ...

To prove this to yourself, try opening the refrigerator door before the light comes on.

Firstly, my fridge light doesn't come on 'til the door is opened about half an inch. Maybe not all fridges are like that, but I've proved that one wrong.
And secondly, what about dark? That's faster than light. It must be - as soon as you turn off the light, dark's already there.

(Yes, I know that dark doesn't actually exist, it's just a concept created by the absence of light, but just humour me here, ok?)

Hey, did you know that you can't lick your own elbow?

Ah, but the light has come on before you even bought the fridge, my friend. They wouldn't have put it in if it didn't work during testing, and if they did, they will die for violating the laws of physics, or at least quality assurance.

Ok, so what if you're the quality control guy, and you have the honour of being the first person to open the fridge to check if the light works?
Or if you replace the light, then open the door to test if it works...I think I should stop now.

Is violating the laws of quality assurance really a crime punishable by death?

How could they kill you for it?
It's not possible to violate those laws! It's like jumping up and not falling back down!

Ah, but it would be tested before it goes in the fridge, so they know whether or not it's a globe problem and not a circuit problem if it doesn't work. :)

Only in North Korea.
