Lease on life?

Neo-Anarchists

Have you ever felt as thought your lease on life had run out?

You know, the feeling you get, when you just know that you are going to die unless something happens. It can happen in so many different ways...

I, personally, know the feeling all too well. I've cheated Death far too many times to be comfortable with it already.

you and i both. just realise that things will always be as good as you make them, and that you are not alone.

I know the feeling of cheating death, but I've never experienced the sense of inevitability that you speak of. Is it that your situation has just gotten so bad that sustained survival is unlikely, or that you feel like you don't want to live?

It's the feeling when you realize you *will* die unless there's a miracle.

For instance, when you're hooked on opiates, and you realize that you're taking dangerously high amounts and within the next month you will die unless you quit. Or the feeling you get when you've just drank a bunch and taken some barbiturates, then realized that unless a miracle happens there is no way you'll wake up the next morning. Or the feeling you get when someone holds a gun to your head and says it's time to have a little fun.

That feeling.

Gah, it's that new indie band that everybody is in love with. I forget their name...
It's not Death Cab for Cutie, it's not Iron & Wine, it's definately not Cake but they sound a little bit like Cake...

Fuckit, it's two words that start with "M". I think.

Grr, why can't I remember their name?

(hee, that reminds me of that one Radiohead song)

Now THAT is a feeling I hope I never get. You have my sympathies. :(

I know the feeling!

Like when you fall off a motorcycle doing about 80 km/h? Then again, I didn't have much time to think about it before i slammed into that nice soft sand dune.

i have right out bitch slapped death more than a few times. that, added to my job, makes me feel like every minute is my last. then i spend three hours thinking about how i can improve myslef to fully enjoy the last minutes. then i get frustrated, and either go online, get drunk, or call my friends over for some funning. maybe some day i will get a clue, but, i will probally die right after that happens.

I wouldn't say I've cheated death, necessarily, but definitely hospitalization -- mental and otherwise.

Honestly, I'm on the other end of things. Given all of the ways that I could have killed myself or gotten killed by now, it makes me absolutely certian that God has a serious plan for my life.

Haven't felt that the end was inevitable and near. Have felt that things would never end, unless I gave them a nice little shove.

I feel like a reality TV show. Or Nature's very own punching bag. Get the shit kicked out of me, but it's just enough like a cartoon that I pop back up after the anvil falls on me.

Lifes like that. Enjoy.

If I were more of a masochist, life would be pretty good. :D
