that should be 'fir' (men). speaking of which; 'mná' is women.

vir... fir..... It's all the same

i suppose so but there's no 'v' in the irish alphabet (or j,k,q,v,w,x,y or z for that matter) that said there was no standard spelling in irish between the reformation and the early nineteenth century. (just trying to sound smarter than i am!)

ya... what always got me in my Irish oral for the leaving was trying to say siceolaiocht agus soceolaiocht without messing up!
by the way, how do you get the fada's? its been bugging me for ages...
