France plans to ship schoolchildren to death camps.

It seems France has opened a holocaust museum to remember the 76,000 Jews they deported to Auschwitz. They also plan to send their schoolchildren on bus trips to the death camp to learn about the holocaust. Do you think the muslim children of France will have a different reaction to the trips than the non-muslims?

Sincerely, i dont. Why would they?

Some definately. Sadly enough a significant number of Moslim youths in Europe do not believe the Holocaust took place, and refuse to participate in lessons that mention them. Same with things like evolution: they do not wish to hear about it.
OTOH, there are also many non-moslim youths with similar ideas. So maybe their reaction would not be different... though that is not a good thing.

The porpotion of most gentiles of tolerant to intolerant towards jews seems to be about the same among muslims. I think, I'm just speculating.

Personal experience as well as 'recent' media attention to this subject in my home country (the Netherlands). Recent means here it started being picked up around 5 years ago. Two years ago it got more attention when at the yearly '2 minutes of silence' to remmber the WO II victims some decided to yell obscenities and playing football with the flowers. It is getting quite a lot of attention again now due to recent events involving moslims. Of course everything gets 'hyped' - but several schools with 80% moslims do in fact simply avoid the 'controversial' subjects. Cabinet dislikes this.
Similar situations are said to exist in our neighbouring countries.

I'll see if I can get some English sources for you. Unfortunately most Dutch quality newspapers put their backgroundarticles behind paid gateways :(

Ill take your word for it.

It is a grave subject and must be dealt with, with patience, and in my opinion, muscled positive politics of integration.

As far as i am concerned, every country in Europe should send their kids, no matter their religions, to see the Camps.

"Those who dont know history are doomed to repeat it"

This quote just jumped to my mind when i read this.....

Problem in Europe is we are/were too tollerant towards islam and other religions and ideologies.
We forgot the main rules of Universality and enlightenment : everyone has the right to his/her own ideas and relious convictions....to a point.
U always need to subscribe the idea of equality between the sexes, sexual preferences, races, etc. we are a bit too forgiving on this point(s), especially when it come to our youth and even mor when its someone from another culture.

But its also a part our own fault when it comes to islam .... why are we still "importing" conservative and radical imams ? we dont import our priests from latin america do we ?

I think that it would be a great learning experience for all children ... wish I could have had such a personal history lesson as that would be

Well, i don't mind "importing" people, i dont subscribe the idea of a "fortress-Europe", but i do agree that if we should accept those that wish to come to Europe, we must also ask, no, demand them to accept our culture. it is intrusive and may even be disrespectfull, but in the long run, it is the best way to garanty a stable, diverse, tolerant European society

.....wha? What does being a muslim have to do with the holocaust?

Remember, more than jews died in that genocide. Saying Muslims ----- usually hate jews ----- therefore support holocaust makes about as much sense as saying christians ------ usually hate homosexuals ----- therefore support holocaust.

Or am I completely misreading what you're saying?

Ahem, Christians don't hate homosexuals. Certainly there are some that do, but you should not say that all do because some do.

Christians are supposed to hate homsexuality, not the homosexual.

I say that thees people must do as the native government says, if it is part of the education of that country then it must be done.
They live now in a democratic nation if they wish to hold on to their way of life then they are free to do so in their own homes but if they want to change the school system or other things to fit their needs they really should not have come in the first place.
The government sets standards that must be met.

It sounds like you're saying the French shipped the Jews to the camp. :)

I was in Paris 2 weeks ago. If your talking about the Holocaust museum in the upstairs portion of part of Napolean's Tomb, I was there and it was very interesting.

Did you just run this in order to title it the way you did and get a lot of attention?

So they don't hate Jews, just Judaism?
