I've taken the advice, and it's horribly complicated because to tell the truth I was beaten by my mother about 6 years ago and as a result of this I shut every emotion out, I cared about nothing, literally, then I met her, I kind of liked her when I first met her, and things led to other things and we started spending alot of time together, we both really like each other, but she has a tough time trusting people because her dad would always yell at her, give her a hard time, so she has a hard time trusting people due to this. She's a good person, a straight A student taking college level classes when she's in 11th grade, and having been moved up a year. So she has a lot of school work to do, and she also has a horse to take care of, which is another thing about her dad, he wouldn't take her out to take care of them, but yelled at her for not taking care of them. so she has a lot of stuff to take care of, and she doesn't want me to hurt her at the moment by cheating, so she wants to me to gain her trust.
but her Bday is coming up here fairly soon, and I'm gonna do something special for her.

Yes. That state is incredibly difficult of getting out of in my experience. But however comfortable numb you are, it isn't what you actually want, as I suspect you're discovering. How old were you when your mother beat you?
then I met her, I kind of liked her when I first met her, and things led to other things and we started spending alot of time together, we both really like each other, but she has a tough time trusting people because her dad would always yell at her, give her a hard time, so she has a hard time trusting people due to this. How long have you known each other? Just to get perspective. Also, do you know if she is just too innundated by obligations to add you in? That might be an insurmountable obstacle if she has a certain type of personality. But due to your last statement, you seem to know what's required. It also seems like it will be incredibly difficult, as her defences are very frightening to take down. Step lightly, for the barriers can break down in a wave if she cares for you enough, which is very entropic in its results. It can be a great help, but if anything goes wrong it can augment the damage more that anyone wants to think about. I wish you the best of luck, my friend. You are fit for the challenge from my observations whether you realise it or not.

Though I haven't had one of those throwing things burning my clothes kind of break ups. That seems like it would be one of those cool things in retrospect. My brother has some quality dramatic breakups. Ah well....
Great, but what about this "not a catch but the law of averages eventually kicking in" sort of thing?

If you're around long enough your bound to run into someone willing to give it a whirl. I imagine. 'Cause I haven't put any work into it at all and it came around more than once for me.
I don't know man. It was poorly worded. I'm no expert. I guess it will either happen or it won't.

That is pretty late for not having been kissed but better slow than slutty. I would be proud to be your parent, knowing that I had done something right.
Or perhaps something wrong. Social prowess is a very necessary building block, and, trust me, it's harder the later you start. Your child should develop at his or her own rate, and you should try to make that as close to the mean as possible. Too early can be damaging, but tardiness is much more difficult to deal with. I turn 16 in a month and I still haven't.

Whats weird-it's nearly impossible to stress me out. And that stresses other people out. They start to freak out that I'm not freaking out about whats going on. Don't know why, I just don't.
It's not to say that I never, or even that I only stress when it's important-like anyone I've stressed out over something incosiquential, but it's just not that often.

It's really funny when that happens. Since I'm pretty introvertive, I do not react physically to stressful situations, but can tell their psychological effets on me. And since I do not act stressed out, everyone looks at me weird sometimes. Not as often anymore now that I've become more social, however...

I only stress out over inconsequential things. When something big's going on, I barely notice. But I'll randomly freak out over something like a book is in on a shelf in a library upside-down and it bothers me terribly for some odd reason. Or a pen will be at a slight angle to another on my table, and it will piss me off until I straighten it.
Which explains why in high-school they tested me for meth *and* heroin, what with the alternating between tweaking and "Ohhhh, uuummmmm, whaaattt'ss gooinngg onnnn?"
Grr, why do I have to act like an addict when I'm not?
Anyway, back to my original point, a story. Back when I lived in Texas, there was some mild flooding now and then. One day, there was about 4 inches of water. I was just nonchalantly walking home from school, and there were people all around yelling and driving away, and I for some reason couldn't understand what was bothering them.
Wow, am I off-track or what? i'll shut up now.

My mom thought I had OCD when I was 3 or so, because I obsessively lined up my toys, and got frustrated when somebody knocked one out of the line. I almost never played with them, just lined them up.

Drugs actually are a part of it. Though they are by no means the only thing dealt with in the song.
Wait, do you mean that Comfortably Numb really *is* about heroin?
Partially, yes. Though heroin was never specified, opiates are typically the tyoe of drug that renders that response in people.
it's plesant, but you get little out of it in the long run, you only shut your self out to better things, you become cold calculating and morbid. I'm still trying to get over the cold and calculating part.

No, not really. Though I guess it was kind of presented like that, it was most certainly not the message.
Drugs actually are a part of it. Though they are by no means the only thing dealt with in the song.
Arent you like um 14?
If so Good for you
Yes, been kissed. Mmm is good Waiting for the right person is the right road to take. It pays off. Makes it a hell of a lot better, more enjoyable, more memorable, it's better all round. But even so... for all those who haven't. I know they've been offered before but mine are extra special
Ill keep waiting then.

...as for me, Yes. For some reason girls just want to kiss me and guys want to get really serious and relationshipy with me... they occasionally forget that kissing is important... HELLO! Like Sabastian says in the Little Mermaid, "Kiss the girl!"
...but I am a bit older than ya'll so I'd hope my answer was yes.

That wasn't sarcastic. Have you ever seen the movie The Wall? Ultimately Comfortably Numb is about alienation, but herion is part of what lead to that alienation, in the movie and for some members of Pink Floyd, and many other rock stars.

No its not you ive come to accept it.
Neo-Anarchists can be sooooo dificult sometimes it would have been a perfect setup planned against me.
Im actually intending to buy it on DVD i saw it when i was like 10 so my understanding of it may/would have been poor but in relation to the songs i listen to them a fair bit.
Its one of the most powerful Movies ive ever seen.
And Wish you were here was written on the Bog.-now that should get you thinking.

Pink Floyd are brilliant. Watch the film of The Wall, the album will make a lot more sense, especially if you're on drugs yourself at the
Oh yes, to both points. Though don't do it while on 'shrooms. One of my friends did and she got so freaked out by it.

Are you insinuating that I don't know what "Comfortably Numb" is about? With most people, drugs are a symptom of a problem, or part of a problem, not the cause. Though it really is debatable whether anything like that could ever be a problem. But there is much more at work there than just drugs, my friend.

Thank you. This is what I was trying to say.

If you don't buy it, rabid monkeys will break into your room at night and mercilessly rape you. The Wall is one of my favourite movies, if not my favourite, and a 10-year-old certainly does not have the mental capacity to appreciate it. I had to watch it a few times to get a lot of what they were saying, and have read up a lot on it, since there's quite a bit to the movie that you can't derive just from the film alone. And, just to rant, why does the version of "Empty Spaces" suck so badly on the album?
And Wish you were here was written on the Bog.-now that should get you thinking.

It's just that he was a jerk, that's all... I shouldn't have kissed him.. But thanks for the sentiment. :p
Well... I appear to have already voted on the poll, but I don't think I posted. Feel free to ignore me if I did and have just forgotten.
Yes; been kissed before. First time wasn't that great, mainly because it wasn't the guy I really, really liked at the time, it was some random guy my friend set me up with.
Which somehow added to my natural cynicism.

Heh. Well, technically I have a 'private study' session now... so I'm not being too naughty. And I'm only in highschool, so I doubt one session spent on NS will make that much difference.
And ugh, 'work'. It's to early to even consider such concepts.

1. Private Study sessions are the blocks where I either don't have classes because I'm only doing four subjects this year (since there are six session blocks a day, I get two free sessions every day ^.^), or where a teacher is away.
2. Yes, but I didn't mean in the fluffy-handcuff way  :p
