Neocons are getting green. Check out this article about Neocons pushing for more energy efficiency in the USA. http://slate.msn.com/id/2112608/

I will belive it when I see it.

For some reason I don't see an oilman and an energy producer saying we need to conserve energy.

Especially when Cheney has bashed alternative energy sources in the past.

The legislation will probably be a paper tiger.....

Good they are getting green. With all the money they make, they should use alot of it for research into alternative fuel resources.

I don't trust their motives.
I think their motives are quite clear. Stop funding unfriendly regimes in the middle east by not buying their oil.

Yes ... which, by virtue of the necon's past record, means impending pre-emptive strikes and subsequent nation building in which we would get greatly discounted or free oil from our own carefully placed puppet leaders.

No ... I don't trust their motives at all. We shall watch and see.

For some reason I don't see an oilman and an energy producer saying we need to conserve energy.

I'm an "Oilman, or at least, I work in the Oil Industry, small-time, localized Oil Company. I believe in energy conservation, if not for my love of the earth, then for the self-interest that is...I don't know...not pissing away my livelyhood (well, hopefully not my entire life) for only a short-term spurt of money.

When I heard that they were going to cut back the national production of Oil, I was kind of glad...but then I realized that it was just so that Oil prices would stay the same.

I may be in the Oil Industry, but I'm not blinded by it. I see the local industry dying every day, and I see the numbers roll down to the triples, then the doubles...and someday, the single digits. It can't be stopped, but it can be slowed down. I believe that there should be conservation, without it, we (the people and the Industry), are just twisting the knife in our wounds...only making us bleed faster.

OH MY GOD! Drunk commies....aren't you the starter of another thread entitled, "Who needs the environment"? My head is spinning, and I don't know what to think anymore...how can someone believe in environmentalism and human supremacy over the environment all at the same time (COMPLETE LACK OF THE ABILITY TO SPOT SARCASM IS MY DOWNFALL)!!!???
