Screw it. We'll adapt. We have technology. There's like 6 billion of us. It's not like global warming and other environmental threats are going to make us go extinct.
So what if drilling for oil destroys a wild ecosystem? It's not like that will ruin anyone's livelyhood. At least nobody important.

"We have technology"... funny. It's not like we can control the weather or avoid a new Ice Age. But eh, what else can you expect from somebody whose sexual interest apparently is Miss Pacman?
Let's see if this thread will or will not degenerate in a regulare flamefest.

Is this a joke or serious? Have you notice the recent tsunami disaster? That wasn't caused by global warming, but it shows that we can't control nature, despite our technology. But hey, the people who are dying out there aren't Americans, so obviously they're not important, right?

Ehh... the whole conservation movement is just downright dumb anyway. What, you think that just because an antelope is pretty you can spend billions and make evolution stand still?
Ha ha ha... no.
The world is constantly changing. Live with it. We can.

Exactly. We can't control nature, but in wealthy countries we can minimize the damage.

The world changing on it's own is a natural thing.

Can I have some proof that global warming IS real, and that this is not part of the larger weather cycle? Why ask me to provide proof when GW supporters have not?
Whenever it gets colder, the Global Warming jihadists will blame it on Global Warming. Guess what? When summer comes around and it gets hot, they'll blame that on Global Warming too. What a load of crap.
Just give me some proof from a good source that Global Warming is real.

Actually by debate, you made a claim, somebody challenged you for proof.
You have to prove it don't.......

Actually the environment is pretty essential for agriculture. And we can't make enough indoor farms (or whatever) for everybody - too expensive.

Global warming is real, and the proof is out there, as of right now the average tempature of the planet has increased by 1 degree, and yes there is proof out there that this is from green house gases. Now 1 degree might not seem like much, but this is just the early stages of global warming and the gases are increasing exponently. What GW's advisors want us to think is that with the "technology" that we have we can not only survive global warming, but we can reverse it, which if we look at Mars, we see that it cannot change.
could we have this little thing called proof????

We are on top of the food chain. Destroy the lower parts = destroy yourself.
Food doesn't appear out of nowhere, and chemically cleaning it from all the pollution there would be without environment policies would simply cost outrageous sums.
Not to mention that the idea of an all-concrete-metal-plastic-ceramic world sounds rather depressing as a sight. It would just scream "fake!".

But we can eat those animals too. Food chain only counts natural diet I think. There is really no "top", just animals without predators.

There is the idea of an apex predator. The apex predator in a given area can pretty much eat anything he wants and not have to worry about being eaten. Humans qualify. When we end up getting eaten by something it's a rare event. Usually we're the most dangerous predator in any environment we occupy thanks to guns and cooperation with other humans.

Umm, almost. You are forgetting the largest reason that sexual reproduction exists: diseases and parasites. Everything in nature is cyclical. Except viruses, but they rely on the cycle. Not to mention that we are eaten when we die by decomposers.
