I hope there were some mistraslations in here, because this is pretty much saying "I am a genius. You wouldn't criticize a genius, would you?"

Hmm it does seem like there could be some language barrier there. I have to say though, even if that was the design they created, and not simply a malfunction or manufacturing error, thats a pretty crappy design ethic for company like Sony. They make quality stuff, and this kind of thing doesn't do good things to that kind of reputation. If the design you created has a known flaw, you fix the flaw before releasing the product.
