Most of us, if not all of us, know of [violet] and the awesome power of the mods. Many have debated over [violet]'s existence and possible other accounts or puppets of [violet]. Some, even, have gone as far as to say that [violet] is Max Berry, and Max Berry is the mods. This, however, creates a fear that the whole of NationStates is controlled by one person, a CubaStates if you will. [violet] and the mods are simply mannequins of Max Berry to give us a false sense of security, and to keep us from becoming too unsatisfied with the 'government' of NationStates (namely, the admins and mods). I myself subscribe to this theory.

Others might say that the mods are old, longstanding and respected members of the community. Well of course they are! Max needed them from the beginning to convince people of their varied personalities and their difference from him.

I heard many other theories, among which that Max is an alien to enslave us. NationStates has done that already, don't you think he would have invaded the earth by now?

Another theory is the most commonly held (in my opinion). Max and [violet] are one and the same, but the mods are all different. Well then how did they become mods in the first place? Surely none other than Max himself picked them, because he was the first admin of NationStates.

And somehow this all ties in with the Moon Landing being fudged, and Area 51. But you make those connections.

So you think that Max stays online on four or five different accounts for almost 24 hours every day? Rather than, you know, getting volunteers to do the moderating? Despite the fact that this site is just advertising really, and not actually part of his job (him being a writer and all).

And there I was thinking my Cog=robot conspiracy was silly.

In Moderation, there's a thread on the whole Violet thing. In reading one of Cogitation's responses, I learned the real truth.(tm)
