Didn't you leave out some books there?
Like Genesis and Revelations? There might be others, I'm no expert on the Bible.

There is no way I'm gonna start naming off every single book in the bible.

I just mentioned jove because it's basically god screwing people over.

I have ... though every copy I've seen either goes from Genesis to Malachi or from Genesis to Revelations (depending on if it's a Bible or a Tanakh).

LOL! I have read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation at least three times, and have memorized great swaths of it as well. :P

1. I don't believe in either creationism or darwinism. I do, however, accept the theory of evolution as being basically sound.

2. The issue of "the virgin birth" is not an important one for me. Jesus existed as an historical, as well as Biblical man. Whether he was born "of a virgin" is largely irrelevant.

3. I don't see homosexuality as either inherently bad or inherently good ... it simply is.

4. "There are many anti-Christs." The number 666 is, as John states in Revelation, "the number of a man." We can speculate endlessly about who this might be, but in truth no one knows. My best guess: Nero.

Who believe creation over darwinism? I don't think they are exclusive, perhaps some elements of both
Who believe Jesus was born from Virgin Mary (revised edition) over Young Women Mary (hebrew edition)?True
Who believe homosexuality is bad? It is. But it is not my place to force that stance on others.
Who believe the number 666 is the antichrist? Trinity of evil, number of the beast. Also just a harlmes number coming between 665 and 667.

Now tell me.
How many of you have actually sat down and read the bible? All of it. From leviticus to jove? Read the entire bible. (from Genisis to Revalation (or Apocolypse depending on the translation/publisher))

What's your point?

So Eutrusca, are you even a christian?

That depends upon whom you ask. If it's me you ask, the answer is a qualified "probably not," or "it depends upon your definiton." If you ask most "Christians" down here in the Southern US, the answer would be a most definite no, without qualifications. Does that help? :)

I believe in creation, although not necessarily young earth creation
I believe Jesus was born of the virgin Mary
I believe homosexuality is bad
I believe 666 is the number of the antichrist, although it was probably Nero

I have read much of the Bible, but not from begining to end. And Revelation is the last book.

Yeah, that's pretty much me. I believe in the literal 6-day creation. Jesus was born from a virgin. Homosexuality is wrong (although so are a lot of other things, and I don't see why people emphasize that one so much). Not sure about the 666 thing, but it does seem to be connected to the end of the world. And I'm on my second time through the Bible. I'm also not a Southern Baptist, as you might expect. I'm a non-denominational Charismatic Evangelical, if you are familiar with all of those terms.

Basically the same. only, I've read the Bible cover to cover only twice, and as for the anti-Christ my best guess is GW Bush :-P )

As for the question "are you a Christian": for a nutjob from the Bible Belt, most probably not; for myself, definitely, absolutely and undeniably yes.

Hehe, even the face he's pulling.. :D

As for me:

Not a christian. (More of an philosophic atheist or so..)
I stand by the line: 'Religion is the sublimation of the weakness of those who can't handle life', by Nietschze.

Creationism is utter mythical out-of-date bullshit, created by ancient people to provide an answer to the question "where do we come from", to offer some certainty. I'm certain enough by the theory of evolution, although one can never be entirely certain imo. It is't a big deal in my life anyway..

As somebody said: homosexuality just is . Nobody can judge that, i believe.

Also the dualism between the "Holy Trinity" and the "Trinity of Evil" is out-of-date. It was introduced by Zarathustra to provide an answer to the problem 'why do bad people have all the luck, and do the good live in misery'. He created the idea of reward in a "heaven" after some 'judging day'. Later on, Judaism and also Christianism in a lesser degree, took over the idea.
So as i said, it's out of date, and i can't believe in it.
(as a matter of fact, the book of Job was also an answer to the problem of the 'happiness of the bad ones', or better said 'the misery of the righteous/ why is there misery?')

Of course Mary must've had sex before having lil' Jesus, who are you kidding?

And i read the Bible, just because i wanted to know what i was critisizing, not out of religious belief. ;)
I must say, some nice tales, but mostly religious propaganda (duh).

Mary could have been a virgin in the sense that she still had an intact hymen. A doctor friend of my dad's said he'd cut many a hymen to deliver a baby. Seems as the hymen may stay intact even after sex if the guys not too big.

I've read the bible from B'resheet to Divrei-HaYamin Bet

and from Mattityahu to The Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah to Yochanan.

I have found there are so many different ways of seeing everything in the bible, so straight forward answers and questions can never be answered with true accuratcy, and its up to phliosophey and theology, and points of view.

are Hard core christians?

No.

Who believe creation over darwinism?

Creation and Darwinism are not antagonistic. Of course, I believe in creation from the subjective perspective of living within our universe. Although I believe the multiverse has always existed; thus making creation only valid from the subjective perspective.

Who believe Jesus was born from Virgin Mary (revised edition) over Young Women Mary (hebrew edition)?

You mean Mary: The most famous whore ever?

Who believe homosexuality is bad?

There is nothing inherently wrong with homosexuality. Although I do believe that it is a version of the sneaky-fucker males we see developing in other animals. For example, certain flat fish disguise themselves as females to get close to females and then screw them whilst the other larger males are competing. But this brings along serious problems when other males believe they are female and try to screw them...Basically the same thing really :).

Who believe the number 666 is the antichrist?

It's a number... Lol...

Nah, I've read quite a lot.

I'd classify myself as an athiest with some twists.
survivial of the fittest yes, which all plays into evolution. facts are more swaying than plain words...
there is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuality. if that is what you feel then by all means you go right ahead and love whomever you want to. your rights end where someone else's begin. the emphasis should be much more on the love of that relationship (like any other one) as opposed to who it concerns....and oh yea, generally it doesn't concern you.
virgin mary giving birth? thats more of an oxymoron and i find it extremely hard to swallow.
personally i like the number 666...probably because it pisses people off which i find funny because that number never hurt anyone. no more than 682734 or any other bit of randomocity.

i guess i just like to keep my feet on the ground and looking ahead....if you keep looking up at the clouds you're going to step in the worst things on the ground. fun? ...meh.

and as for the reading of the bible, yes and no. i think that goes for most. there is a difference between simply reading something and analyzing it. reading does nothing for anyone other than provide enjoyment. my boyfriend is a christian and we have many a *ahem* arguments about our our views where he will read me pages of the bible and i have found that i can always counter it's statements. religion was born in a time when we had little knowledge of what was around us, it was only natural to find some way to explain why things happen. we do that today too...only its called science.

"i'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints, the sinners have much more fun.......only the good die young."

Don't think i'm Hard Core. I'm a Latter Day Saint though.

Creationism over Sovial Darwinism, but yes Both Darwinism and Creation are accurate. Just Need both to get full story. And yes there was a Adam and Eve.
God made the other women that Cain and his brother had children with.

Jesus was born of a Virgin Mary, King James Bible.

Homosexuality is not good, but not bad as long as you don't engage in activities that are bad like anal sex or oral.

666 is the Numerical number to represent the AntiChrist: not "the" anti Christ. He isn't a number he is a figure/person(s).

Read Bible from Generations to Revelations. (From Old to New). And Numbers is boring.
