How many of you out there have advertantly or inadvertantly become addicted to the digital crack known as World of Warcraft?

I said I'd never buy the game, and that even if I did buy it I wouldn't play it, but I've play over 30 hours in the last 3 days.

I've seen the corrupting influence of WoW, just as I have seen the fell power of Diablo II, take hold of my friends, and seduce them, one at a time, into the foul control of the game. I shall never fall to this level!

I was thinking of buying Diablo 2. I downloaded the demo and now I'm strangely compelled to buy the full game...

Start bowling.
You'll get rid of other games before you even know.

For single player Morrowind is better. For singleplayer and multiplayer, Neverwinter Nights is better.

Last summer I spent at least one hour bowling every day for a month. It was a lot of fun, but then I stopped.

Yeah, but I've played some of Diablo 2 and I quite liked it. If I get Morrowind I would probably still buy Diablo 2. And that would be the end of my social life. :)

I'll never buy it because I know I'd be addicted :)

Neverwinter Nights is tha shizz though for single player roleplaying. If you've done the original, SoU and HoU, then I highly recomend checking out the Aielund Trilogy modules.

http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/modules/data/Savant2.shtml is the link to his author page which lists all the modules and the haks/patches/updates necessary to play it. I'm most of the way through Act III and its so good I'm probably going back through it as a completely different character to complete some of the subquests.

Ah, I wholeheartedly agree. Warcraft never has held the same charm for me as Morrowind, or even GunBound.

blizzard has no business making a mmo, they have no idea what the yare doing and didnt do enough testing in beta phase, it will be months before you are paying for something other than a expensive beta

I play three browser-based online games, post regularly in four forums, use IRC, have a large list of roms, read books, write essays, go to the pub, go to lectures and seminars, and play snooker/pool.
I don't have time to do all that in a day, there's no way I have time to play WoW. I know i could get obsessed and immersed and really love it, but i doubt i'll have enough time until i retire.

if you can find a low pop server, the game runs great, less issues than any other startup except DAOC that i have ever played...

I prefer Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition. You get to actually nuke someone in that game :D

Plus, that game is what helped me create the Plutonian Empire :)

hey a fanboy! no wonder you said the gmae runs great and better than any other game. all fanboys are idiots and blind to obvious flaws in the game, you know like paying 15 bucks a month for a beta

Sorry. I'm presently enamoured with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Not as good as its predecessor, but still worthy of my unwavering devotion.

That game holds two awards in my book: Most Incomprehensible Crashes and Glitches, and Best First Person Shooter. I still play the game fairly regularly even though it's more than 6 years old. The community has gotten down to just the right size.

Well that degenerated quickly.

I'm paying $7 a month for WoW right now, and while there has been some down time it usually marks the release of new features or fixes to complaints. I like the fact that Blizzard isn't just sitting back and saying "we released it so it's not our problem any more." Sure it can be frustrating not to be able to play when you want some times, but in the end I think it's worth it, and if you disagree then don't play the game, but don't bother the rest of us because we do.
