Seeing as i'm going to be sick if I don't focus on something,

Let's talk about music. Right now the topic is Nirvana. Who likes em?

(formerly the topic was the smashing pumpkins)

I used to. I still think Siamese Dream is a terrific album and I listen to it now and then, but everything after has been a letdown. Including the Melancholy set. That should have been a single good disc instead of an overreaching double.

And, after reading a little bit of Corgan's blog, I've come to the conclusion that while he may have rocked at one time, he's kind of a dummyhead.

I shall stay silent on the matter. Never mind eh Kanabia?

They weren't bad. Had enough good songs to prob make a decent two-album best of. I liked Pisces Iscariot myself.
Now what do ppl think about Salmonella Dub?

Hmm. I disagree there. Siamese Dream was great, but I did really like Mellon Collie. Though it costs $40 for 2 CDs here. Who are they trying to kid?

But I DEFINITELY agree there. I read that and my first and only impression is "ugh". Enough said.

Don't get me wrong, there are good tracks on Mellon Collie. But recently I was going through my library and deciding whether albums ought to be kept, sold, or selectively iTuned (and then sold). After some reflection, I decided Siamese Dream was a keeper, whereas only half a dozen tracks off Mellon Collie were keepers. And I haven't listened to either disc of the set straight through in like 6 years.

What I found most entertaining about that blog was that, because it's backward, you get to read Billy's apology before you read Billy's horrendous insults and allegations of his bandmates' drug abuse and smashing up the Pumpkins.

I don't actually have Pisces Iscariot (not the most hardcore fan, end never claimed to be), and I don't know Salmonella Dub.

Hmm, though I see your point. Siamese Dream is definitely their best i've heard.

I know. He is truly one of the few I give the title "Dickhead". I have to love him and hate him at the same time though :p

Now, what do people think about Nirvana?

I give this thread an hour before it turns into another argument :P

Not a fan of SP personally, tho i've hardly listened to much of their stuff.

Edit: As for Nirvana, Smells like teen spirit is a classic but once again - in general they're not my thing. Don't like grungy american stuff much.

Meh, SLTS isn't my favourite of theirs by any stretch of the mile.

Though guessing from your name, I have to wonder; do you like noir desir? :p

My favorite Nirvana song, hands down, is Marigolds. I guess this means I'm not really a Nirvana fan, seeing how it's a Grohl number, but there you have it.
