I'm like an hour from Chicago. We got at least half a foot. I'm not sure as I haven't been out with a ruler. I don't know whether to rejoice or shiver.

We got lucky in Ottawa. The storm passed south of us and we only got about two inches.

Of course, the reason the storm passed below us is because the jetstream is keeping an arctic air mass stalled overhead that pushed the front south. Frankly, I'd rather shovel a foot of snow than deal with the -40 (and worse) windchills we've had for the past week.

It has been in the mid- to upper-70s here the last week or so.

It going to be below freezeing here in Central Florida tonight, with wind chills that may hit below zero. At noon it's 51 degrees.

I'm surprised what I got. Living in one of the snowiest regions in the US (in Upstate NY by Lake Ontario), we got only about 15". However, my hosue is at an elevation higher than the rest of the area, so we got 2'. In any case, I was expecting much more. But we also have temperatures hovering around 0 degrees farenheit.
And btw, I feel deeply sorry for those on the Northeastern seaboard, especially New York up to Portsmouth. They got blasted with snow, or so I heard.
