I don't have to go to work tonight because of the blizzard! YAY! :D
I get to stay home with you fine folk, maybe play a little City of Heroes and worry for my wife who has to work tonight.

I can only hope that my exams get pushed up a day because of this snow

Nice! Makes me miss living in a cold climate sometimes. One time we got an "extreme cold" day off of school - no snow on the ground, just so cold it was dangerous to go outside. Now that's a good day to mess around, since no roads are blocked. :)
Honestly, I've never even seen real snow.

Here in Mount Vernon, along the northern Bronx border, we got at least 8" out there right now. It started around 10:00a and began to stick at 12:00p, been downhill since there. It's going to keep going too. I bet by morning I won't be able to see my car :).

It's very pretty from behind a couple layers of glass. And if you're a kid and like to sled, it's a blast. I suppose skiers like it too. But they are slightly deranged. Once I started having to shovel it, I started to hate being in it.
Besides, I hate the cold. It's one of the few things I'm a pansy about. I really loathe being cold.

I'm a couple miles north of Boston and we're expecting a foot or two, ontop of the snow that's been on the ground consistently since a couple of days after Christmas. Glad I'm off until Wednesday!

then i nearly hit my mother's car getting into the driveway.
oy vey. for those who haven't seen snow, you really aren't missing much IMO

Noooo LG how could you say such a thing. Skiing is awesome.

Large snowstorms in my area often come with power outages. Hope you keep power.
No snow here... but lots of bizzare thunderstorms.

Here in Ohio the public employees who should be out plowing the streets and salting them instead decide to plow part of the time and fuck around the rest of the time, so the roads are hit-or-miss. We even see snow plow trucks driving around snow-covered roads with their plows up, thereby not doing a damn bit of good. And there's no salt trucks anywhere.
When my fiancee and I walked out to our car to visit her mother this evening, it was encased in ice. It was kind of a cool effect from the inside. Those of you who have been to a restaurant like a Denny's or a Perkins where they have that funky glass that you can't see through worth a damn but looks kind of cool - yeah, that's what it was like. It was impossible to scrape, though; I had to have her turn on the car and jack up the defrosters to heat up the windshield so I could scrape it, and even then it didn't do a whole heap of good.
