My dad for breakfast this morn did have: Porridge and Tinned Salmon.
That's not two seperate foodstuffs, it was porridge with a tin of salmon mixed in.
I'll put that into perspective: he had some oats - soaked in milk, mixed in with a tin of salmon - soaked in brine(?or something), microwaved together in a bowl.

I was nearly sick at the thought of it - had to leave house very quickly.

Further proof (if any needed) that scotsmen truly do put porridge with everything.
I'm betting your father never gets sea sick.

At least he didn't have haggis for breakfast.

Haggis rules. Don't speak ill of the haggis! For breakfast it might not be ideal, but for every other meal!

As for that specific breakfast... I don't like porrige anyway. Porrige and fish might just be off the scale.

Haggis is the most repugnant thing Scotland ever came up with until the Bay City Rollers. :gundge:

I had a friend once who loved bananas with cheese melted on them.

He also had his own 'floats.' Except, instead of root beer and vanilla ice cream, he put orange sherbert, strawberry syrup, Diet Coke, and lemon juice all together, and sprayed chocolate whipped cream on top.
