According to Fortune's list, Wegman's is the nation's best place to work. I've never worked there, but living in upstate NY, I shop there all the time. The experience is radically different than any other supermarket. Try as others might, only Wegman's feels like home. And as you can see, their corporate culture is extremely different, and while it is conducive to growth, it feels like a small family business.

You know, I feel compelled to mention that this company was on the list since its inception about 20 years ago.

They can afford the high prices. As Fortune noted, Wegman's gets in a day what Winn-Dixie gets in a week.
Screw Win-Dixxie.
That's what I always say.

It's not even in my area. Wegman's has squeezed it out of the upstate NY market. I wouldn't be surprised if their wasn't one in all of New York state, though I bet a few can subsist on Long Island.

I really like going to Wegmans, we go to the one near Lake Seneca when we go to the lake house on Lake Seneca.

Growing up by it, I'm sort of spoiled shopping there. My grandma used to have a timeshare at a condo in Melbourne, Fl. Publix was the grocery store down there, and supposedly, it was a higher rated one. It couldn't compare, however.
BTW, do you know if one is open in Massachussetts? I'm just curious, as I know they have opened in ten states, but I don't know which ten exactly.
