There is a very strong correlation between foot size and reading ability, as people with larger feet seem to be better readers than those with smaller feet.

This statement is true. How can this be possible?

Age. As you grow older, your feet grow.

People with larger feet tend to be older than those who have smaller feet. Babies have small feet, and cannot read, adults have large feet and can.

See, the reason I don't want to say, "you're close" is because then you'll know that you're near, obviously, so it ceases being wit, and becomes deduction. But I'll say it.

"close, but not quite right. Veeeeeeery close."

Correct! to my one, anyway.
(by the way, I still can't see the progression to leaves... I had to check the answer because I gave up. Is it just something that you know, or did you figure it out?)

I've raked up far too many leaves not to notice that they get noisier as they dry out.

Describe the situation illustrated by the phrase: the music stopped and she died.
The music was timing something, but stopped early for some reason, and someone was expecting something to happen, but it didn't, so she died.

Ok, here is a good one;

We are little creatures;
all of us have different features.

One of us in glass is set;
one of us you'll find in jet.
Another you may see in tin,
and the fourth is boxed within .
If the fifth you should pursue,
it can never fly from you.
What are we?
