Neither. Take up a good martial art. Learn a usefull skill while you exercise.

They (unfortunatly) don't usually offer that in most US highschools. I'd find out which of those colleges give out more money for, take one that up.

Soccer because its way better exercise. I have done both and only play tennis now because I am out of shape.

Never too late to take up a martial art, really. Especially if you're just in highschool.

I love footie. I'm a bit overweight so when I run track I get tired. But in footie I can play for like 3 or 4 hours straight constantly running around and not get tired. Same with hockey. Something about chasing a ball brings ut my athletic side. If they could just stick a football at the end of long distance running events I think I could win.

Skiving=bunking off=skipping school. I never actually did this, as my moral fibre is like wet lettuce

but now i know that footie means football you learn something new everyday huh

oh yeah i don't think there's a girl's footie team

Totally martial arts! It's a lot of fun - you get to kick arse, get your arse kicked, develop your mind, maybe learn a few words in an asian language, and become more flexible! What's *not* to love? ;)

Either that or hockey. But if it's only between soccer and tennis, definitely soccer.

why? i was leaning towards the tennis thing it's not like i'm a guy and i would look dumb playing tennis

and i get the benefits of martial arts through origami (except for the get to kick arse part) so i think i'll skip the martial arts

Through origami, eh? Hm, excuse me if I'm a little skeptical! :)

Because soccer is a lot more fun than tennis. More of a contact sport and all.

If you do martial arts, you will learn the fine discipline of talking out of sync i.e. your words will not be at the same time as your mouth. It is very difficult, and only the highest kung-fu masters can truly hone it to perfection

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

The only other answer accepted (for half marks) is the manga equivalent with mention of how the subtitles are always different from the words voiced by the characters

i was gonna mention the subtitles but decided that the first answer i thought of should be the right one because of instinct or something

same technique i used on my math test the other day that didn't come out too well

no, the chlorine is there for a good reason.

And plus I try not to think about it. Besides, our filter is pretty damn original and efficient.

Besides, your body can handle the amount of stuff that comes into your body in the pool. Unless your sick or you catch something from someone who is sick.

That's why I didn't practice today, I was sick.

Pfffft, stop pussy footing around and just take up knife fighting.

Slashing your opponent with a blade weapon while stuck in a 20X20 foot dirt pit is WAAAAAY more satisfying than kicking a goal or being up 40/Love!

are they during the same season at your school?
i dunno where you live, but in any US school i've heard of they have fall soccer and spring tennis so if that's the case i'd do both.
if you have to choose i would go soccer.

and whoever said that thing about distance running, i totally agree. sometimes during track we kick something back and forth while running. on the road. safe, i know. but it makes it less boring. also we sometimes play ultimate frisbee, same idea, running but with something else.

Please, don't be a tennis sissy. You'll end up wearing a pastel sweater tied around your neck. I used to hit kids like that when I was in shcool.

Soccer is cool. Rugby is better, but I doubt the school would offer that sport in fear of legal ramifications.

Between tennis and footie you have to pick footie. Nothing like kicking a ball into a net to bring on violence. And also I guess lesser qualities like skill, determination, hard wor, that kind of thing.

Football is a more socialable activity and will get you meeting more people. Which makes it the best thing to focus on in high school.

Tennis can be a helpful skill to have if you want to make one on one contacts for business in later life.

Of course if you are an uber talented girl brilliant at both tennis and soccer, then choose tennis because pro tennis players get way more than pro female soccer players.

In the U.S., it's pretty stupid calling soccer "football." We know the real name of soccer, we just don't say it here.

When I speak Spanish however, I call it futbol, like it's meant to be.

Culture man, culture.

Play footy, so you can grow up to play for Arsenal, the coolest team in the world (I'd say best, but even I know that's stretching it.... :p )

Just so long as you don't play for Manchester Fucking United. Bloody Manchester wankers....(hocks and spits)

Yeah. It's stratching it quite a bit whilst Liverpool still play. Though they do have a better womens team. And I agree about the Mancs. Stay clear.

If you really want some exercise, play water polo. I used to run in High School, and got so I could run 50 miles without tiring in about 7 hours and change on a good day, but water polo wore me out every time.. different muscles and skills, I know, but still.. that's one tiring sport, especially when we'd drill for an hour, treading water while taking shots on goal, doing sprints, and dragging jugs to the bottom of the pool.. it's the ultimate in exercise, in my opinion.
