Lets not limit it to beer, beers horrid horrid stuff:P So whats your favourite alcoholic drink? Mines either sambuca or *looks at bottle in hand* "herbes".

I may be slightly tipsy. I thought it would be a good money saving idea to drink before I go out tonight...

I rather partial to a Gin and Bitter Lemon and Blackcurrent , but I think that mostly stems from a desire to be unique or interesting.

I think the best is the 98% stuff you can make at home. It's easy and relatively cheap to make but you'll just have to make sure your drinking habits don't turn you into a bum. It's better to mix the alcohol in some other drink. That way you'll get many exciting variations from normal beverages.
I'm a seventeen year old fascist from finland and I hate each of those bums on the street. That's why I drink very little: to be able to beat up any bum that tries to beat up me in the pitiful way the bums do.

Try a prarie fire. It's a shot of tequila with a little tabasco sauce floating on top.

Damn you Rasselas. It appears that you took the one pointless song on OK Computer and put it in your sig. For shame. Etc.

Neway, if I'm not drinking generic German Beer no.4, I'll drink some fine single malt. Home brewed, for extra blurriness

If I could afford it, The Glenlivet would win out. I'm a fan of single-malt scotches.

However, since I can't, a Breakfast Cocktail- 2 shots Galliano, 3 shots Cinammon Schnapps (Pref. Aftershock), 1 splash milk. Gaurenteed to make your whole day better.

Wow, man you have not tried Canadian beer, that and German are the best. For beer definetly try Alexander's Keiths, we got a lot of the foreign students here in residence to get hooked on the stuff.

For liquor definitely Canadian or Scotch whiskey. For Canadian get Crown Royal, and since you are in the UK I am drinking Red Label right now, great Scotch whiskey.

P.S. Guinness is also really good :)

Recently I 'discovered' Guiness
and vodka. Absolut is my favourite so far, and Wyborova isn't bad either, just less my taste. There are dozens of vodkas out there waiting for me to be tried.

What I also plan to do one day:

Oh yes and I made my own mead. Tastes mostly like wine (from the yeast) and honey (captain obvious to the rescue!)

Whiskey. I've only gotten a chance to try Jack Daniels and one other, but definitely whiskey over the other stuff I've had.

That link won't open for me, but is it the vodka and Brita filter experiment? I'm definitely trying that one - I just need to buy more filters, I've only got one left and I'd rather make sure it's safe for water, hah.

Hmm,

Anyone hear of Guinness - Nectar of the Gods?

What about Talisker, The Dalmore or Glenmorangie?

Question: Why is American beer like making love in a canoe?
Answer: It's fucking close to water.

Tequila, preferably Don Julio or any Reserva Especial and, of course, Reserva Gran Señor. But in a pinch most Dorados will do.

Straight, of course. No lime or salt.

the long island iced tea is the greatest cocktail ever conceived: "say, let's just take all the bar-side bottles and pour them together! we can add a splash of coke, just for fun!"

brilliant, i tells you.

when i comes to shots, though, 151 is the tops. i dig basic rum and cokes as well, and vodka martinis.

as an aside, there's one thing i just can't stand:

i love James Bond. the old one, the Sean Connery Bond. but Bond always orders a vodka martini, "shaken, not stirred." now, the reason one stirs a martini rather than shaking it is to avoid breaking the ice in the shaker (because breaking it makes the ice melt more and dilutes the martini); what James is doing is ordering a watered down martini, and he is doing it like a snob. that's totally NOT in keeping with the Bond character!!!!

It won't open? Sorry about that. No idea how to fix it.

You're right, it's the Brita filter experiment.

You can filter cheap vodka through a Brita filter repeatedly, and eventually it'll become really smooth.

bailey's.

mmm...

sambuca is good, gosling's black seal rum is good, moosehead is good, canadian is good, rickard's red is good, red stripe is good, if we're talking real mixed drinks (i.e. not just adding it to coke) then whiskey sours are good as are irish coffees.

Another beer drinker here.
(Numerous "faveorites")

However:
Something different: Chu Hai (a sort of Japanese high ball - shochu, soda, and flavor - preferably lemon or lime)

Bourbon Whiskey: Jack Daniel's Black or Green label, or Gentleman Jack, or Blanton's Single Barrel
Scotch Whisky: Laphroaig, Glenmorangie, or Oban

(All whiskies served straight up, with a few limted exeptions, if you please.)

Cocktails:
Rusty Nail
Pina Colada (summer)
Tequila Sunrise

HELL NO. I don't like Keiths at all.
Mooshead, Rickard's, or even Schooner beat the hell out of Keiths.
I'm a big fan of Moose Red or Rickards Red, but the best is any of the Pumphouse beers out of Moncton.
Oh, the advantage of being a university student in Canada.

Funny story on Sol.

I went to a bar in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. A friend ordered a Sol and the Hipster bartender replied dryly, "We have no Sol."
My girlfriend mocks, "We have no Soul." The rest of us laugh and the hipsters glare. The bartender replies, "That's not funny."
I crack up laughing and sip my whisky.

My drink of choice is Evan Williams, single barrel. Wild Turkey will do in a pinch, though.
