Melvins!

The Elder Malaclypse

As we all know the melvins pretty much rule over all rock music, so I thought i'd start a melvins thread and folks can bring and discuss melvin-related news. I'll get the ball rolling:
Has anybody seen or bought their new book?

...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead rules the rock world, but Death From Above 1979 is staging a revolt. We will see if ToD's new album can quell the rebellion.

I thought this thread was going to be about pulling a person underwear over heads. I wanted to improve my technique, I'm disappointed.

Hey Elder, I felt the same way when I posted a couple of threads about my favorite author, Thomas Ligotti, a while back and watched them slowly sink down with no hits. At least sombody's paying attention to the "melvins" thread.

'Kids' (or more properly 'the Kids') as in 'collective noun used in connection with fans of loud music': see also If The Kids Were United by Sham 69 or The Kids Are Alright by the Who for further details.

Anyhoo, I've still got a jump on you of 4 years.

the only thing i know about the melvins (if its the band were talking about) is that they are from Aberdeen in Washington, and their drummer Dale Crover drummed for Nirvana for a short while

Yeah! But enough about the melvins. Lets talk about the cake that is unrelated to them. There are many different types of cake, just like there are many different types of people. My favorite is the banana cake as i like yellow people and am yellow myself. One day when i was walking down a road (which was quite steep and i fell a few times) i ate a banana cake. This made me feel happy. Or something.

I actually prefer the newer ipecac stuff but every melvins album rules so much ass that a giraffe could seem tiny and futile. With sprinkles and bits.

I prefered them when they were still releasing 8" singles, still they never came close to Brutal Truth for perversity in single sizes, who, IIRC, released a series of records starting at 5" and then adding an inch each release, and then subtracting half an inch when they got to 12" and proceeding from there in inch wide steps... in other words:

7", 8", 9", 10", 11", 12", 11 1/2", 10 1/2", 9 1/2", 8 1/2", 7 1/2", 6 1/2", 5 1/2".

Actually there is one and only Melvin, all others are copycats. The origional Melvin sang in a band with his two buds, Simon and Theodore, and were managed by the impeckable Mr. Dave.
:fluffle: On his recent blog, Melvin quotes,
" IT IS SAID: That When the Earth is Weeping and the Animals are Dying, a Tribe of People will come Who Care, They Will Be Called:
THE WARRIORS OF THE
RAINBOW"

I've heard of them, but couldn't say I've heard any songs. Being of the older set (35+), I'm really out of the loop when it comes to newer music. I never listen to the radio or MTV for obvious reasons, so it's tough to find new bands. Do you have any links where I might catch a snippit or two?
