This thread is probably going to catch alot flak, but you're right. No matter who you voted for today isn't a bad day for the country. Its a celebration of democracy, whether you agree with the choices or not.

Why is it always "May God Bless America"?

Why is God never particularly keen on blessing, say, Britain or Canada or France or Russia or whatever?

Why America?

Is America such a great nation that it deserves to be blessed? Or is it in such shambles that it really needs blessing?

This has always confused me and since people seem to be using it here a lot I might as well ask to get rid of said confusion.

I could say many this about G. W. Bush... but insted I just want to quote a wise guy:

'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

Nothing more, nothing less...

Well, what happened happened. People wanted him President instead of Kerry, so you have to respect their decision. Now he's got 4 years.

by repeatedly reemphasizing that Bush won the election, you make yourself look more like a jackass than you would look like if this wasnt an idiotically, needlessly biased thread

I would've done this thread if Kerry won too! I respect the office of the president and would support whoever is in there if I liked him or not!

Ok, he won and people have to live with it for 4 years. I didn't want him to win either but he did. Like him or not, he's President.

corneliu, i appreciate the patriotism you have about supporting whoever is elected, i have no problem with that and actually admire it. but just because he's your president it doesnt mean you *have* to support him, especially when he insists on being such a tit.

It's good to respect a official electet President. That isn't the reason for all this questions. I think what the rest of the world don't understand is, that the people of the USA don't think: "is this right what the president says?"

It isn't unpatriotic to question what the leader of the coutry does. If you think it IS unpatriotic you shouldn't play NationStates.

Every president has committed the nation to freedom and liberty... I believe at one time thats what our nation was founded on.... But freedom and liberty to who is the good question here.

Best Damn Band in the Land...to usurp Ohio State's claim. You need to see the Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks. That's Eighth and Eye streets in Washington, DC. Best parade you could ever imagine.

Not the way GWB just did. Most Presidents can barely use the word freedom in a sentence, let alone put tyrants on notice that their time has come. This should be a great four years.

Is that compared to the last 4? Because if it is, all he needs to do is shut his mouth and it will be better.

George W Bush has spoken, and his words prepare us for the final push towards the last Holy Crusade. He has taken on the Pagans in afghanistan and iraq and soon the Holy American Army will march on the rest of the Pagan hordes across arabia. This is all in preparation for the Christian Crusade to retake the Holy lands in the name of Christianity and the true God and Christ the Messiah.
Once the belivers of false religions are cast out of the Holy lands, George W. Bush will make the last move, and the Holy American Army will take Jerusalem in the name of Christianity and our saviour Jesus Christ will come again and enter the City.
George Bush is a Prophet.

I care not who are the rulers of Earth. They are all corrupt, evil, heartless fools who will only do what will benefit them personally.

It makes me sick to my stomach that we live in a world where we are forced to pick between 2 evils.

The Political system and all who take part in it suck, and I hope they burn in oblivion.

The way I heard it, it's anyone who wants liberty and doesn't have it now. A lot of rhetoric, to be sure, but generally this President means what he says, and then carries it out.
