The Muslim world is often angry at a great many westerners for tarring all Muslims with the same brush as Osama Bin Laden and the Iraqi insurgents. But when there are isolated incidents of abuse or humilliation at British or American prison camps in Iraq, the insurgents and many Muslims critics are quite happy to jump to the conclusion that the idea that the entire British/American army is involved in a conspricy to humiliate Arab prisoners.

Another example: Blair's latest "Inciting Racial Hatred" law. Funny how the Muslim leaders pushed that through to deal with the BNP, and yet turned a blind eye to Abu Hamza and his incessant rantings. And don't get me started on Blair/Labour sucking up to the Muslim council.

Of course, the Muslims asking that not all Muslims be seen as being the same are not generally the fundamentalists to whom you are referring. Notice that fundamentalists generally *do* want you to paint all of a certain group with the same bruch and/or exclude everyone else.
