Who would you want as a celebrity moderater for a day? Alphonse to Zig Zigler, name them all!

Personally I'd like David Letterman, except that he would be bothered to do anything, except perhaps drop a water mellon off a building to see if it breaks. Actually, what about another David? David Attenborough? I know he's getting on a bit, but he's still cool. I know now! OPRAH!!!:D:D:D She'd be perfect, let's just hope at the end of it she gives us a new car!:D

Or do we?

This obviously calls for some elaborate conspiracy theory about either the immortality of Stalin, or the ability of the dead to use the internet, or Myrth being silly.

I for one am putting my money on the formermost. What with the middle one being silly, and me not being suicidal enough to suggest the lattermost, and all.

Comparing Vetinari to Vorbis? How dare you!? I mean, OK, technically Vetinari may, in some strange way, be considered to be a ruthless dictator, but as far as ruthless dictators go, he's an incredibly decent one. Heck, I'd have Vetinari for prime minister anyday.
Vorbis on the other hand, is a bloody fundamentalist who tortures people because he really thinks that's best for them.

Well. I was talking in relation to Myrth. Vetinari has the genius, but not the evil. Vorbis has the evil, but not the genius.

Technically Ankh-Morpork is a democracy not a dictatorship, as they use the "one man, one vote" system...its just the Vetinari is the man, and he has the vote... ;) :D

Well, that's not completely true. Vimes, at one point, considered the idea of democracy where everyone was allowed to vote (apart from slaves, women, foreigners, idiots and people who aren't really our kind of people) but he gave up on the idea once he realised that Nobby too would have a vote.

That implies that the Ankh-Morpork democracy is... pretty unique.

I think its one of his really good ones myself, its a lot better than the ones published a few years ago, and most of the witch ones (although thats just me, i can never seem to get into the witch books, although they are still quality books). My personal fav is Small Gods though.

Moving Pictures wasn't about Rincewind.
The Last Continent was pretty nice... except the parts where Rincewind ran away.

And that's just the point - Rincewind isn't interesting. He just runs away a lot. He doesn't carry the story, he... uhm... flees through it. The only things of real interest are, usually, the things Rincewind is running away from.

Yes, I've seen 'em - assuming we're talking about Paul Kidby. And really, I like Kidby's illustrations way better than Kirby's. They're more realistic and less chaotic. You can actually *see* what's going on, whereas with Kirby you really need to look at it for a while before you can even begin to figure out what it is you're seeing.
