Background: I go to an all boys Catholic High School. The school itself won't sanction a pro-choice club because it conflicts with the Church's views. I walked around asking this to people as a joke. This guy decided he wanted to attempt a serious response.

ME: "Who wants to start a pro-choice club at Brophy?"
HIM: "Who wants to start a club to burn people like you?"
ME: "Its okay, you can fire-bomb an abortion clinic and go to jail."
HIM: "I would if I could."
Me: "You know what's funny? In Europe, where the abortion laws are not contested and clinics aren't fire-bombed and there are no protesters praying the rosery, they have a quarter of the abortion rate of the US."
Him: . . .

Please tell me that all pro-lifers are not as zealous as this fine specimen of society.

There was one in my class. He was SERIOUS about his view. I mean, it's almost like religion just drives them insane when they see something "abnormal" or "sinful". Geez. Talk about getting a life... hehe, no pun intended.
And just like that one, my teacher and students gave him a few facts and he began to rant about it's "unhealty" ways.

imagine how high our abbortion rate would be if it was legal... americans seem to like sex and messing around like that more, so if it was legal, we'd do it more, and there would be even more abbortions.

my views on abbortion: 1st trimester only, unless the woman was raped, the woman could die in birth, or in cases of incest. addoption should be the 1st choice though..

Abortion isn't exactly FUN you know. No way in Hell would 'legalization' (BTW it already IS legal) lead to more abortion.

The sad thing is, this really shouldnt be considered a religious issue at all. Abortion is bound to be the next body for the final solution, imagine using abortion to cure "genetic diseases."

Imagine a world of genetic supermen where the weakest are eliminated or prevented from being born if they don't measure up to certain standards. Imagine Soylent Green.

absofuckinglutley. they should. i am pro abortion, but i also hold the opinion that if you are having sex, and you do not want to have kids, you should be smart enough to do something to prevent it. sometimes, when given control, idiots tend to abuse the power. so, maybe there should be a limit,if you are just being compulsory about birth control.

Abortion should be made retro I mean c'mon it is a parasite lets be real. In fact until a child is about 8 years old it is a parasite that cannot fend for itself and should be aborted if the parents see fit. It should be the parents choice. We now have partial birth abortion so what if it comes all the way out. If you just left it on the table it would die because it could not take care of itself so therefore it is indeed a parasite. Right?? So I say abortion till they can take care of themselves. Them prolifers are real sickos who are they to tell someone not to abort a filthy little parasite!!

Okay, I'm pro-life, but bombing abortion clinics to stop abortion is pretty dumbass in my opinion. It defeats its own purpose. Why would you murder to stop what you think is murder? And before someone likens this to war, meeting some in armed combats is very different from war. Maybe we should pit prolifers vs. prochoicers in an epic battle. :D

I thought over in Ireland and Northern Ireland it was pretty much only abortion when it comes to harm to the mother? I was just reading up on it, and pretty much the people don't mind. There are a few groups argueing against it, and I once read an article about Green Peace trying to take it up to the UN or something like that. I think if they just put it to where its a limited thing, rather then a selective to condoms and birth control, and edjucated and pushed for better birth control, then it wouldn't really be an issue.

Well, the radicalist Pro-Choicers havent done this sort of damage (yet.)

We should pit the radical religious Pro-Lifers against the eco-terror organizations (PETA, SHAF, ALF, ELF, etc.) and kill two birds with one stone.

Someone who defines themself as "pro life" wants to kill people?

Am I the only one that sees some flaws in this?

Of course, I'm a hellbound heathen, so...

They have less abortions because they have less unplaned pregnancies because they actually give kids the information they need.

Heh heh heh. That's funny.
Seriously though, haven't the anti-choice brigade considered that there might be enough unwanted children awaiting adoption?

1. I believe that vaginal heterosexual intercourse and its accompanying possible consequences of pregnancy should be postponed until marriage or college, whichever comes first.

Because the world needs more pregnant students? Studies and caring for a child dont go too well, according to several reports. Student who are parents usually need a year longer for their studies than those who arent. Besides, average students are hard-pressed for money, jobs taking even more time off studies. Now imagine the monetary needs of a baby in addtion to that. Yeah, i am going to wait till i enroll in college, fabulous idea...

addoption should be the 1st choice though..
30 million abortions vs. ca. 350.000 adoptions per year. Go figure. In ten or eleven years the US population will double, half of all people then being inhabitants of foster homes. Hooray for all those prolifers who will adopt the kids.
The first choice should be contraceptives and sex-ed that teaches to use them.

Several thousand irish women fly over to Britain (or drive to Northern Ireland) to get abortions there every year. There's also that cruiser ship ran by some charity that travels out to international waters in order to perform abortions...people don't mind because the government has pretty much said publicly 'Go have an abortion on the other side of the border, as long as we can keep face with the RCs, it's fine'
