You all have been zapped! By Chapelle!

I am against the war 100%, which you could find in other threads.

PS, I am Kramers Intern. If you remember him, yeah, he is anti-war, I was barred from the boards.

I was using by debating skills to see how well I could debate for a cause I dont believe in.

Do you know what I dont get? Why dont people support the Iraq war? I know there are no terrorists or WMDs there, I support it because they had an evil dictator.

This is a guy who killed and tortured his own people, ever heard of the Kurds? We the US the most powerful nation on the face of the earth, have a responsibility. That is to help out nations less fortunate than our own. Should we really just stand around while people are being abbused and tortured? Yeah, sure, that would be the easy thing to do. But what is the right thing? Ok, people have been killed by the US and others, but its been about 10-13,000. How many were killed by Saddam? A few hundred thousand.

After the Soviets broke up, we were the last Superpower, we had to use that power to help the rest of the world, sorry if you think we just sit around and worry about ourselves but this war a defenit necesity.

I do think it could use some better planning and more armor. But I am behind the theory of the Iraq war 100%!
So why don't you go into other dictatorships, like Zimbawbray, stop the genocide in Rawander, stop the fighting in the DRC? Of course, they don't have oil?

Your support and endorsement makes me feel warm and fuzzy. :)

Wait, that's my blanket... nevermind.

A well reasoned and rational argument. I'm convinced. I now support the Iraq war. I also support invading some other countries. Let's start with Saudi Arabia. They lack religious freedom, spawn terrorists, and violate human rights. Let's invade them, send in some missionaries to teach them religious tolerance, and occupy them for a while so we can install a Jeffersonian democracy. We might need a draft, but it's a small sacrifice to pay.

Oh, and most people put civillian casultys at at least 20,000 I think about 60,000 some think it's aroound 100,000. Acording to Iraq body count.net it's between 15365 and 17582, I balive thats very conservtive, considering Flaujia.

Stay out of Zimbabwe. Robert Mugabe has the situation under control. Your imperialist troops aren't needed.

Maybe we're killing two birds with one stone. See, while I said there were no terrorists in Iraq, others came to Iraq from Syria, so we can take down the dictator, and kill a few Al-Quiedans.

I know...but you also helped him gain power in the first place...makes the rest of us suspect your motives when he stops playing fetch for you and then you take him out....

This is a guy who killed and tortured his own people, ever heard of the Kurds?
Yet you support Turkey, who also persecutes the Kurds...

The right thing is to intervene...but have some consistency...if you really feel this is your duty, try to protect as many people as possible...not just those in areas you think are more important. And please keep God out of it...the last thing we need is another holy war (referring to the "God is on our side" quote of Bush that I just can't reference, but hey, we all heard it!)

Ok, people have been killed by the US and others, but its been about 10-13,000.
Hmmmm....I would like to dispute that...since you label U.S and others...what time frame are we talking here, because it should be more in the millions. Are you factoring in regimes backed by the CIA that murdered thousands? Because then you got some serious numbers....you'd better clarify this and provide some facts to back you up on such a low number.

After the Soviets broke up, we were the last Superpower, we had to use that power to help the rest of the world, sorry if you think we just sit around and worry about ourselves but this war a defenit necesity.
I'm glad you think so. Aren't there any other necessary wars you should be running off to? Like in the Sudan, maybe?

I do think it could use some better planning and more armor. But I am behind the theory of the Iraq war 100%!
I love percentages....so when are you joining the forces? Or is it that you will remain BEHIND while your soldiers die?

The problem is that we didnt need to turn iraq into a hellhole and a warzone and wreck it for a generation to put saddam hussein out of power, we could have done that by killing him or applying other pressures.

There have been much worse atrocities committed in the last fifteen years than those by saddam hussein. A striking example is that of the genocide in rwanda.

Haha, if we invaded Saudi Arabia we would have the shit bombed out of us. Think remember what happened during 9/11? That was because the US had military structures in Islamic "holy land" even though there govt. invited us there to help them keep stuff under control. So it wasnt our fault.

The most recent report I saw was that most insergants where Iraqies, who, strangly enough, don't like there country being invaded and a puppet goverment being put in place. Strange that. Oh, and they don't like you killing people who they see as innocents.

Yes, there are some foregn fighters, I think they are in minority.

Oh...so you'll only intervene when the opposing army has already been demoralised, the economy destroyed and the infrastructure deteriorated into nothingness after a decade of sanctions....

if there is no financial gain in an effort to be involved in a foreign affair, the U.S. will not go in and do nething about it. Humanitarian aid is on the low of the totem pole compared to financial gain, we must get money from being involved in foreign problems and conflicts to better our economy.
