No comment, just interested to see the results of the poll.

I'm just hoping my countrymen don't embarras me.

I'm curious to see whether the ratio of for and against evolution is different for the USA than other nations.

If you are not from the USA, please say what you voted, and what nation you are from.

I voted other. The reason being that science only gives us the best current theory. In terms of the variation of species, and the explanations of the similarities between species, evolution is the best current theory. This does not mean that it is correct. There could be a revolution in biological thinking comparable to the quantum physics and relativity revolution in physics.

Creationism has no scientific grounding and has no place in any science curriculum. (It's perfectly fine in comparative religion and myth classes though, along with all the other creation stories.)

The pool shows *no-one* from outside the US who thinks that the theory of evolution is *not* correct...

It seems that on the whole, this forum has quite a scientifically-minded populace.

I have also studied other languages and English is not too bad. Other are worse (I am thinking about all the verb conjugations of French, the genders of Spanish, the declinations of German...)

Also, I do not "pick on" people's spellings. Sometimes I correct them, because this helps them to communicate more clearly. I am not however a "spelling bully", if there is such a thing, and am not trying to make myself look clever. I think you should be slower to judge people.

Wow, I'm suprised the USA doesn't have alot more people who don't believe in evolution, but that could be that way because most people who don't believe in evolution see American Culture and the internet as evil; and would never partake in this poll. No, no, no, the Neocons consider themselves the true intellectual elites, reading Nietzche and Strauss and all that crap. They consider the liberal "elite", timidly old grandmothers afraid to embrace America's true destiny as ruler of the earth. OK, the results of this poll suggests that Americans have 1 in 6 people thinking that the theory of evolution is incorrect, and non-Americans have 1 in 31 people believing that the theory of evolution is incorrect.
