I have a number of websites that state that Trudeau, the "greastest" canadian PM dressed up as a Nazi during WW2 as he thought it was funny. The guy is/was a piece of shit...

"When the Second World War broke out, Trudeau, at age nineteen, was expected like all young men of his age, to contribute to the struggle against Nazism. As a student he was required to join the Canadian Officers Training Corps but, opposing conscription, he refused to do so and never participated in the war effort. He chose instead to support the Bloc Populaire an anti-war group. Canadian author, Mordecai Richler relates that at that time, Trudeau, wearing a Nazi helmet and uniform, would ride his motorbike around the lakeside where Richler and his Jewish friends had their cottages. This was perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come, pirouetting behind Queen Elizabeth, sliding down banisters and giving voters the "finger salute". "

He has the be one of the most over rated leaders in canadian history by far...
what a scum bag...

He was definetely one Canada's greatest Prime Minister. Any Prime Minister who can attract girls like a pop star demands my respect. Being unconvential is not a bad thing. ^_^

I never really liked trudeau, im a proud Albertan and he hated the west, yeah he got the constitution back from Britain, woopie doo, woulda happened with Joe Clark anyway, sooner or later. He was anti-west, pro-nazi, in many aspects of his politics and a Liberal. Its a shame he was elected so many times, Mulroney should have stayed longer and reworked NAFTA in a more favorable position for Canada, and Trudeau ruined our military and our respect for decades to come.

I just don't like the message that if you run for mayor of Canada and you are not perfect we will rip you apart, I hear plenty of Trudeau bashing whenever his name comes up but don't care because am not very impressed by the majority of our political leaders.

Thats true, however why do hold this guy to such a lower standard? Are we that determined that he his such a great guy + we need a "great" PM?

IMO canada would have been better off had this guy never been PM...

Yes, complete proof would be pics of him in a nazi getup. Try google and keep searching, maybe you will find a pic. I did however find tons on P T wearing the nazi suit....

I'll easily take Richler's word for it even though my original post may not have said that. I see it as a stupid offensive joke and it's a shame he gets away with it. But where should a person draw the line, twenty years from now should I complain if Paul Martin bullied me in high school? Those are completely different things but so is dressing up as a nazi with your friends and commiting genocide for your country. I don't like to see political leaders judged to be a sinner or a saint. ((Hope my analogies aren't too messed up due to my lack of knowledge on the subject.))

More on-topic: I've heard people argue that Canada would be better off today if Trudeau hadn't won and they seemed to have pretty good reasons.

He was young and naive and that was a stupid thing wearing the nazi uniform. I still think he was a great Prime Minister and you have yet to give a reason besides immaturity that makes him a bad leader.
