Hiya,

Me and some buds are planning a "blood-n-guts" DVD marathon day...we want to watch the bloodiest and goriest action and horror movies we can find, along with some UFC (Ultimate Fighting Challenge) matches on DVD.

Anyone have any recommendations of movies or other DVDs that would fit the theme?

Cannibal Holocaust is the most banned movie in the world (I think it's banned in over 100 countries). There is some uncertainty over whether or not it involves real cannibalism. I recently saw it in the video rental section of my local co-op...

Apart from that, I can recommend the Evil Dead series. And possibly Brain Dead if you want some light comic relief during your blood and guts fest.

Oh yeah, Brain Dead's on the list! :)

Cannibal Holocaust sounds like it'd fit right in, too...

Has anyone seen the movies "Combat Shock", "The Ebola Syndrome" or "Nekromantik"? I heard these are pretty full-on in the splatter stakes...

Lets see, I'm not really one for blood'n guts.

Hewever if you want a good one Return of the Living Dead 3 is pretty good for it.

Has this kinda hot chick who ends up dead from a motorcycle crash with her boyfriend who's dad runs an experimental bio weapons program that reanimates dead corpses. So he feeds her some and she goes like psycho, I liked it.

Oh, btw, good horror movie site I use to find out about which movies to watch is crazey mazeys house of horror : http://crazymazey.kicks-ass.org/

Have a look on that forum, most of the guys'n gals there are experts.

Dead Alive would probably have to be number one.

Also as mentioned Passion of the Christ and event horizon,

maybe ravenous though i dont recall just how much blood and gore it had.

cant go wrong with the first Kill Bill.

"The Ebola Syndrome"
Oooh! Is that in any way realistic? Because there is a sore lacking of BSL4 videos out there to my knowledge.

For all time blood factor, I'd say Evil Dead 2, simply because of the basement scene...

There's an interesting flick called "Brother" about the Japanese mafia coming to L.A. that involved a good bit of blood and a lot of finger chopping.

Also, movies based on horror video games should work nicely, like Resident Evil (the room with the flesh-slicing lasers...priceless). I can't wait for the Bloodrayne movie to come out. If it's anything like the game, it should satisfy everyone's thirst for blood (heh heh, get it , thirst for blood, vampires...man I suck) :p

The mother of all gory Kung-fu flicks is the all-time great "Story of Ricky"!!!!!

Here are some things you will learn from this movie:

Wood lathes should be used in Rhinoplasty.
Dead prisoners are kept handcuffed.
The inside of your hand is made out of styrofoam.
Kneecaps are ticklish.
Destroying gravestones is okay if it's for Kung Fu training.
People keep their fake eye in a glass of ice water.
Glass eyes are full of mints.
You can tie your tendons together.
Leaves sound just like a flute if you know how to play them.
You can stop someone's heart with a certain martial arts punch.
Prisons have rooms boobytrapped to fill with cement.
Cement really will turn you into stone!
Kung Fu masters can split a bamboo pole with their tongue. (So why are they always single?)
Asian women exhibit "Lemming Syndrome."
Straight razor blades are not food.
Never put your foot through a hot water heater.

I gurantee you this is the greatest kung-fu movie ever!!!!

if you're looking for a good horror movie, Hellraiser or one of the Leprachaun movies is always good.

The first two hellraisers are pretty decent but I'd have to put all 6 or 7 Leprechaunss under the so bad they're funny category. Check out Blood Sucking Freaks, it is the most revolting and hillarious thing ever invented.
