I would say the Sopranos, but frankly I get enough of my thuggish low-rent neighbors to the west in real life. I'm pretty fed up with the stray bullets of their 9mm gun battles flying over the Hudson to shatter the windows of my swanky pad.

So Ali G it is.

Six Feet Under, hands down :p
Amen.
Sex in the City is equally amazing, but you can't really compare the two since one's a drama and one's more of a comedy.
LOTS of hot sex scenes though.
*sniff* I miss HBO.

Arli$$. I love it. I love the episode where Roger Clemens wants a jet.
"How many Cy Youngs has he won Arliss? NONE! I've won 5! (He now has 7). He gets a jet, I want a jet!

"You make hundreds of millions so why don't you go out and buy a ****ing Jet!"

Or how about the one where he pressures a client to accept a trade deal to help his fantasy baseball team!!!!!

Or the episode with the character who is supposed to be Marge Schott

Six Feet Under, though I really liked Oz. Wired is good, but I don't remember what channel it's on. On Showtime I like Queer as Folk.

Who the hell can afford HBO? By the time I get done paying for basic, second tier, Roadrunner and all the add-ons, my cable bill is about $104.00 per month! Groan! Damned Time/Warner! :mp5:

I got it for free when I used to live in the dorms at UNH. That's the only reason I've ever seen it.

We get it through Directv, which costs us a total of about R$100 a month (Divide by 2.7 for US$) but in addition to HBO we also get the BBC which makes it worth it.

I just saw the Arliss episode with Rocky Formaggio (He's a character who is supposed to be Micky Mantle, he even looks like him.) I love that one.

He tries to get his idol when he was growing up (Rocky) jobs and wants to represent him.
job 1: sigining autographs, Rock shows up drunk and takes constant breaks to drink and he insults fans
job 2: announcing. He is with Al Michaels and screws it up by saying "Today's pitching's for shit!"
job 3: shaking hands at casino, top customer there gets abused by Rock.

Then they have a final plan, selling "Seeds of Champion" on HSN. (Think about what it is they are selling)
(scene when they are sellling it on TV:)
Arliss: Think of it, your son can be in the batters box in the bottom of the 9th with this man's blood in him. Seeds of Champion only $5,000.
Rocky: I've always said if I had a dime every time I did it (camera quickly pulled away from him.
caller: Hey Rock, big fan, but is this safe?
Rocky:They tell me it is, but All I do is jerk off (camera is pulled away from him)

I vote Carnivale, with Deadwood a close second, Sopranos third
exactly my own top three.

i liked six feet under when it first came out, but its such relentlessly over the top disfunctional moping angstfest, it is really started getting on my nerves.

The sopranos certainly used to be, and is probably the best show they've ever made (perhaps that anyone has ever made...?)

Nowadays it is curb your enthusiasm and to some extent ali g.
