I would like to clarify...

It seems a lot of people were offended by one of my posts a couple days back. If I offended you, I'm sorry.

When I said that I thought the religious would burn in hell, I was referring to the nutcases, like Falwell, and bin Laden.

My only issue with such a statement is that you don't get to decide who and who does not go to Hell. Why don't you worry about your own problems and leave eternity to God, eh?

And maybe you're just perpetuating the stereotype that religious people are assholes.

Thats what good Christians do, they let people admit their mistake, make ammends and then forgive them. You sir are no Christian.

If I remember correctly, someone else had brought up hell, but I might be wrong.
I still believe that that's where they would go, but that's obviously only speculation. Most Christians believe gays and non-Christians are going to Hell, yet... you don't really hear people preaching your message about that.
And to Commando- go fuck yourself. Thank you to other people who stood up for me. It's not about my mistake. I don't regret or take back what I said. I'm just clarifying a misunderstanding.

Very well said.

And 'Jenn Jenn': the only nutcase here is YOU, for comparing Osama bin Laden to the Reverend Jerry Falwell.

Lol.
Okay. I see no difference between the two, just in the difference that they kill people. Most Muslims are not extremists like bin Laden, but Falwell is taking more and more victims of his own faith... blaming 9/11 on gays and feminists. *Shakes head*
Why don't you take your own advice? I do believe it was you that was judging me for my sexuality. But whatever.

First of all, we can make a point without calling people names, yes?

Second.. I don't see much of a difference between the two. Bin laden himself has never blown any thing up, yet his ideologies have bred such people. The same could be said for Falwell, or have you never heard of radical fundi Christians who murder doctors who preform abortions? Just because Bin Laden has been more successful in getting his message to the masses, that doesn't mean they are all that different.

What I said was that the world would be better off if people practised pre-marital celibacy. That statement is undeniably true. I didn't make a value judgement, either in general or in your specific case.

Most Christians believe gays and non-Christians are going to Hell,

Yeah, the Bible is pretty clear on that.

yet... you don't really hear people preaching your message about that.

1. 1/6 of Jesus' teachings were regarding Hell and damnation.
2. Ever hear of a guy by the name of Billy Graham?

How exactly is that "undeniably true"? Because it's what you believe? That makes it neither "undeniably true" or relevant to any one who does not believe as you do.

Would you like me to reword that for you? Is it too difficult for you to understand?
Or how about I just quote someone who actually understands it (Hollystan, you're awesome):
Bin laden himself has never blown any thing up, yet his ideologies have bred such people. The same could be said for Falwell, or have you never heard of radical fundi Christians who murder doctors who preform abortions? Just because Bin Laden has been more successful in getting his message to the masses, that doesn't mean they are all that different.

anyway... onto you...
Yeah, the Bible is pretty clear on that.
Hence why I don't support it or fundamentalists like Falwell who preach it. Christianity is supposed be just that, about Christ, but most people have changed it to "Paul"ianity.

1. 1/6 of Jesus' teachings were regarding Hell and damnation.
2. Ever hear of a guy by the name of Billy Graham?

Yes, and Jesus got angry and violent with the Pharisees, the super religious, but was always gentle and kind with the regular people.
And yes, I've heard of Graham, the man that converted Bush... enough said...

I don't agree with killing abortion doctors since it breaks Gods commandments but I see no problem with burning down a closed abortion clinic as it would destroy the concentration camp that it is without killing anyone.
You're burning down someone's property, therefore taking away potentially thousands and thousands of dollars. That's theft. Why don't you just leave THIS to God?

Its not theft, its arson ,but what Commando is doing is advocating an act of terrorism -on the internet. Which is not only illegal but incredibly stupid.

Wouldn't it make more sense to turn it into a church or homeless shelter or something good instead of creating more destruction by burning it?

I still believe that that's where they would go, but that's obviously only speculation. Most Christians believe gays and non-Christians are going to Hell, yet... you don't really hear people preaching your message about that.

Every time I hear any human condemning anyone to Hell, no matter who it is or why, I give them the same message. I'm not a Christian, I'm Muslim, and Islam has taught me that we humans have no place to judge others - even people as detestable as Falwell or bin Laden - when it comes to eternal punishment.

We don't know these men. We don't know their every move. Maybe when Falwell stands up on TV and condemns homosexuals and single mothers he goes home and realizes his error and begs Allah (or God, whatever) to forgive him. Allah will forgive him. Allah always forgives ... if Allah is asked.

All of us are humans and, thus, we make mistakes. Even when we ask forgiveness, we may still go out and make mistakes again and again and again. Allah will always forgive.

Isa (whom the Christians call Jesus) said to take care of the mote in your own eye before concerning yourself with the speck in another's.

I may not like Bin Laden and I may not like Falwell, but I pray every day that they will see the error of their ways and strive to come closer to Allah. To, as Isa put it, go forth and sin no more.

Part of me also gets a little private chuckle about what Falwell would think if he knew some filthy Muslim was praying for him. ;)

Okie ... sermon's done now. :D

Not directed at anyone in particular...
What I don't like are people who just pray and don't back it up with any type of action at all. It’s like asking people to help you move and sitting on the couch and expecting them to do all the work. I don't think much will happen the way you want it to and they will be less likely to help in the future. Praying for someone and trusting in God are different ideas for most people (though they shouldn't be).
