I won the New Year's lottery here. Well sort of. I made back 30 of the 100 yen I paid. (I did better at my friend's Boxing Day poker game - bought into the game for 500 yen, and walked away with 510. Whee! Stand back for the high roller. :D)
(Oh, for anyone who doesn't know, the US $ is at 102 yen. so I won about 30 cents and 10 cents.)

The company I work for is supported with government funds so we are not allowed to personally accept gifts. At the end of the year we have a drawing to get rid of the things that have piled up (coffee mugs, pens, letter openers, etc). I won the coveted AFLAC mouse. It's the old roller ball style, with a duck floating in it, and has a cord about 2 ft. long.

I got overpaid by about $50 the other week and i'm legally entitled to keep it, according to work (who said "oh, aren't you lucky"). :) Haven't spent it yet though.

Hmm, thinking about luck... My mum gave me $20 randomly, and then when I was at the cricket (Wellington vs Northern Districts) I found $10 note. Not bad for a days work :D
One time me and some other guys were collecting a debt from this guy, and he didn't know who we were cuz we was completly fried, and we kept trying to explain but he didn't get it, so finally he just says"Listen, here's seven hundred dollars, go away."
It was funny.
